When you get the annoying message about Entune download failing.

Make sure car is disconnected from charger

    Turn car on

    Menu/Settings/Setup

Delete Personal Data (note -- this will remove all bluetooth connections and radio presets)

Turn car off and then on again

Manually connect your phone again with bluetooth

    Go to home/apps/entune

Start the download/install process when prompted

Reset your bluetooth (i.e. the wife's phone, etc) and radio presets

Hope it doesn't glitch again -- but from my experience, it will

On my third PP, I am not even installing Entune (or Toyota App) on my phone. No plan to do so. The only functionality I need is Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free phone calls and a music player. No update is ever needed.

    I finally solved this -- I think.

Talking to Toyota Customer service is a waste of time -- they keep asking for my iphone version and software level.

Dealer updated the radio software -- however, I don't think that did anything.

Here are the steps that led to success.

I don't even use Entune (I just got sick of the error message about Entune Download Error) which needed to be clicked before I could use the touch screen every time I got into the car. I believe that the root cause was either a bad version of sw from Toyota or a corrupted download.

    So, here are my steps:

    1. On your phone
      1. Make sure phone is not connected via a cable to the car --- this whole exercise is done wirelesssly
      2. Delete the Toyota App (Be sure to remember your user id and password, otherwise, you will need to reset them)
      3. Delete the Entune App – you never need this by the way – it’s not even used for your 2021 prius
      4. Delete the Toyota+Alexa App (You really don’t need this)
      5. Download the Toyota App from the Apple appstore

    1. Go to car, turn the car on

    1. Go to menu/settings/General
      1. The next steps will wipe out your radio presets and Bluetooth connectioins
      2. Delete Personal Data – the first time this should take less than a minute
      3. After the first delete of personal data, delete it again – this time it will take 3-5 minutes
      4. Go to Bluetooth Settings on the Prius– add back your phone. Note that on your phone – the Prius will not show up as a new connection – just click your existing connection
      5. Validate that Bluetooth connectivity is working by making a phone call, etc

    1. On the Toyota App on the Iphone – sign back on

    1. On the Toyota App on the Iphone – click on “Connect your Accounts”, “Connect Now” – the Toyota app should now say connected to car via Bluetooth

    1. On the Radio, click on App Suite – you should now be prompted to download the Entunes App Suite, Download, then install

    1. Reset all of your radio presets

    1. If you have other phones to connect via Bluetooth – do this as well

    1. Connect your phone via USB cable and re-enable Apple Car Play

So the problem this solves is a persistent error about a download failing? Sorry, I guess my reading comprehension is not working this morning.

There is a problem with this. You have to have the entune app installed on your phone to download the entune software. See attached

When I got my PP, the entune app was removed in favor of the Toyota app. I have an Android phone and lately it gives me an error of the entune update failing and not everything will work. I press the OK and it's gone.

Is there a spot to update? I don't have Apple so I can't update from there. Or is this something I'll have to press every time I start?
