iPhone 12 Pro Max and Prime QI Charging Pad hate each other

    I've searched the threads on here and seems like most people have had good luck charging their iPhone X in the Prius Prime on the wireless QI charging plate. I have the iPhone 12 Pro Max and mine says charging for about 5 seconds then the light turns orange and it stops charging. I have this clear and thin iPhone case:

    on Amazon;


    It didnt work with my Apple leather case either. Is there a trick as to where to place it? I've been placing it in the middle of the charging pad but haven't had any luck. If you have had good luck, please do let me know which case you have as I would love to have this feature work and it may just be a case issue.

    Interesting… I don’t use it much on my Pro Max, but I can’t recall any issues with it. Next time I get a chance, I’ll see if it stop charging.

    I’ve always had bad luck as well in both my 19 Prius and 21 Prime. iPhone models included SE (2020), Xr, and X

    Same here, both my 21 Primes don't seem to like this phone. Must be a way to get it to work, maybe its the sheer size of the phone? I love the placement of the wireless charger so if all I need to do is switch out the case, I'll be a super happy camper.

    My iPhone X seems to charge OK on my Prime. However, every couple of months I just stops charging on my wireless Qi charger in the house. In that case, I have to reboot the phone and then everything works OK again. Not sure if that would help in your situation.

    My wife needs to remove her phone from the case to get reliable charging for her 12 max. Once it's "naked" , it charges fine. Not much choice in placement since it pretty much completely fills the charging space (face up, top of phone toward front of car).

    Sorry, it turns out my wife has an iPhone 11, not 12.
