Does anyone know how to enter phone numbers with extensions in the phone book?
I have a 06 Prius package 6 with bluetooth and trying to get my voice mail from Verizon with only one entry?

    Thanks

I have Verizon as well and use my LG VX9800 Bluetooth with the car. I believe you can add "Pause" and "Wait" letters into a phone number if you are adding it to your Prius Phonebook. Just so you know though, the Pauses/Waits don't work when you access the number from the Speed dial menu. Which sort of defeats the purpose of having voicemail in there in the first place because if you are sitting still you might as well use the phone to check voicemail (since phonebook on MFD is greyed out once Prius starts moving).

Anyway, to check your voicemail without having to enter your code you would put in your number as follows (for Verizon) in to the Phonebook in the Prius:

    Phone number: *86XXX1234#

Where "X" is the symbol for Wait/Pause. I forget which one you have to use. I think it is Pause (Prius will put symbols in the Phone number itself, all you have to do is specify you want to add a Pause). And "1234" is your PIN to your voicemail. And of course "*86" dials your voicemail on your Verizon phone.

    Hope this sort of helps!

I'm afraid I'm still confused and also suffer from being unable to safely and easily check my work voicemail using Bluetooth.

I've programmed into the address book the full sequence of phone number, pauses, asterisks, PINs and pounds. When I dial by name it connects to the voicemail system but none of the info after the pause is sent to my voicemail system. Either it craps out after connecting, or it pauses forever (the results appear the same).

All this programming and testing happened which the car sat still, so speed sensor should not be an issue.

Surely you can check voicemail from a Bluetooth phone via the Prius system. Can't you?

    My deets:
    '07 package 8
    Samsung a930
    Verizon

I'm brand-spanking-new to the group, and did try to seek the answer elsewhere in the forums, but was unsuccessful.

Thanks your for patience and help.

I have the same problem. All the extra characters after the initial 10 digit phone number appears, the extra digits appear when looking at the number in the phone book. But when the name is selected in the phone book or Speed Dial, all those extra characters after the initial 10 get dropped from the screen and don't get transmitted. I have Cingular. Seems like a Prius software bug.
