jacking up front point for Prius 2nd generation

    Hello, first post here in prius-chat. Trying my best to get to the point of the problem.
    I tried jacking the front of my prius using a floor jack and I saw a big metal square piece as indicated in the picture under the car. The point is indicated in the attachment as a RED-X. After much thoughts, I don't know if I should have jack this point in the car. Please advice what this RED-X point is for and I did any damage if I bend this point. Thank you in advance.

    Your avatar indicates "Plug-in Base", which is a little confusing. Assuming you've got a second gen, 2009 model year:

    From page 358 of second gen Owner's Manual (North American):

    In your pic, I think the green ellipse is where the jack should go. Appreciate this is waaaaay back; 3rd gen is better in this regard. 4th gen they went back, similar loc as 2nd gen.

    Often wondered why car manufacturers don’t follow the aviation practice of STEP HERE notice stamps or coloring the jack points to alleviate potential problems. Oh maybe it would cost an extra dollar per car.
