I'm the OP. Well, . . . it looks like my settlement would have been 7723. However, my deductible is 1000 so that turns into 6723. It still has not been determined if the other car had insurance. If it does, the other ins. company will provide that 1000. If the car owner doesn't have insurance I'll see them in small claims to retrieve my 1000. I still don't have a California Highway Patrol (CHP) report which should kick off the search for insurance responsibility.

By the way, I'm in Palmdale, CA. I removed my grey Weather Tech mats (front and rear) along with 3 Cusco strengthening braces: Strut Tower, Front and also Center brace. Interested? Hit me up. 661.618.1864

Wait, 259k miles economy car and you still can get $6500? I mean these turd gen cars are a ticking time bomb after 200k miles. Take the money and run

3rd Gen rocks! The settlement hinged on the miles and this was considered excessive and greatly reduced the value. You should have seen how nice/clean this car was even with almost 260K miles. Interior and body perfect with no door dings and all original paint. Heck, I cleaned underneath the car also. The rear axle, springs and shocks were kept clean and appeared as new. The EGR cooler and intake manifold had been removed and cleaned twice. It didn’t burn any oil. It would have gone another 100K with no problem.

The wrecked vehicle is supposed to be inspected and its condition is supposed to be factored in. At least, that’s what State Farm does. Geico, maybe not.

Sadly, I think extra clean suspension gains you squat. But appreciate how you feel. The crumb bums that plowed into you, or their parents, should pony up.

No inspection. Apparently, condition is not important. USAA had me send pictures of the vehicle. I never saw anyone other than a tow truck driver to remove it from my home.
I don’t know if that’s “Covid protocol” or “why bother, it has 260K”.

More along the lines of the later. I also agree 3rd gen is awesome, it has its problems but I love my car. Any idea what you're gonna buy next? Probably mentioned it earlier and I missed it.
