I'm a bit tall and got tired of the layer of dust on the top of my windshield that the wiper blades didn't hit. Replaced worn out blades with a size larger.

    26 / 18 - recommended size
    28 / 19 - size I used

    Did the trick.
Both blades clear the windshield higher than they did before.
Both blades fit on the windshield well and neither is to big for the windshield.

The 19 fits right up to the exact edge of the windshield when it's in the rest position. A 20 would be to big and sit over the edge, the 19 is perfect.

The 28 is actually still a bit smaller than it could be. It seems they don't sell 30 in the bosch models but if they did it looks like it would fit. The 28 definitely hits more of the windshield than the 26 did.

There don't seem to be any drawbacks just more of the windshield gets cleared.

    As I jave a Gen 2 I don't know the gen 3 size.

You can get the recommended size by googling it, using amazon, asking at your auto parts store, etc.

If you want to try a larger size the number is the "inches long" that the blade is. Like if your current blade is 26, a 28 blade will add 2 inches to the blade in total, meaning 1 inch on each end. If your current blade is 18 and you go to 19 it will add 0.5 inches on each end.

That's how I decided to give it a try - looked at the blade sitting in the resting position on the windshield and there was extra room at each end.
