Something I came across while reviewing my company's vaccine policy....
Montana only state to ban vaccine requirements for employees

HELENA, Mont. (AP) — While many large companies across the U.S. have announced that COVID-19 vaccines will be required for their employees to return to work in-person, there is one state where such requirements are banned: Montana.
Under a new law passed by the state’s Republican-controlled Legislature earlier this year, requiring vaccines as a condition for employment is deemed “discrimination” and a violation of the state’s human rights laws.
Montana is the only state in the U.S. with a law like this for private employers, said Hemi Tewarson, executive director of the National Academy for State Health Policy.
The law has raised concern among employers across the state as Montana struggles with a rise in COVID-19 cases that is once again straining the state’s health care system.

Understanding the anti-VAXers is the first step toward more effective communications:
What Covid-19 Vaccine Skeptics Have in Common - The New York Times

Vaccine Skepticism Was Viewed as a Knowledge Problem. It’s Actually About Gut Beliefs.

Identifying those psychological traits may help health officials convince the sizable minority of Americans who don’t want a coronavirus vaccine. Simply sharing information hasn’t worked.
    • Polling shows that Republicans make up a substantial part of that group. Given how deeply the country is divided by politics, it is perhaps not surprising that they have dug in, particularly with a Democrat in the White House.
    • skeptics were much more likely than nonskeptics to have a highly developed sensitivity for liberty — the rights of individuals — and to have less deference to those in positions of power.
    • twice as likely to care a lot about the “purity” of their bodies and their minds. They disapprove of things they consider disgusting, and the mind-set defies neat categorization: It could be religious — halal or kosher — or entirely secular, like people who care deeply about toxins in foods or in the environment.
    • These qualities tend to predominate among conservatives but they are present among liberals too. They are also present among people with no politics at all.
    • The vaccines have also raised a fundamental question of power. There are many things in Mr. Delesbore’s life that he does not control.
    • hungry to make sense of the world, but it often seems rigged and it is hard to trust things. He is especially suspicious of how fast the vaccines were developed.
    • They are finding fertile ground because of a decades-long decline in trust in government, and a sharp rise in inequality that has led to a sense, among many Americans, that the government is no longer working on their behalf.
    • preference for liberty and individual rights that the social psychologists found to be common among skeptics has been strengthened
    • Vaccine skeptics are sometimes just as wary of the medical establishment as they are about the government.
    • about 7 percent say they are unsure, he said, and about 24 percent say they will never take it.
    • worries that the Covid-19 vaccines were developed so quickly that there might be side effects that have not surfaced
Well I can relate to the last point:
    upload_2021-9-30_7-18-22.png
    • Where is my hair?
    • Where did this fat come from?
    • Where is my razor?
But the real reason for posting this reference is to review earlier skeptical postings and do a pattern match. Facts and data about the vaccines does little good if we're dealing with a 'gut' emotional reaction. So think about how to weaken their true motivations, their feelings, and less about hitting them over the head with a 'clue by four.'

Failure to understand this shows complete lack of leadership.
Understanding this means that leaders should be getting the right people to help spread vaccine support.

    Just some examples:
I would never take medical advice from an athlete, actor or singer -- but there are plenty of people who would.
Except that there are idiots who play sports...the NFL teams should start games with pictures of entire teams saying that they are 100% vaccinated. Each person in the offensive line for today's game...stamped with "vaccinated" on the screen.
Singing the National Anthem for the baseball divisional championship today is vaccinated singer so and so.
TV shows should start with behind the scenes shots of the entire crew saying, thanks to the vaccine we can safely produce this show for you to watch.
Bus drivers should all be required to be vaccinated and have a sign posted that says "I'm vaccinated for your safety, please get vaccinated for my safety."
Put up billboards that say "Are you tired of all these vaccination reminders? We are too, so just get the shot so we can put up another ad"

None of this is going to happen because...probably, someone is scared of annoying a few possible watchers/listeners.
Yes, all the team owners and TV producers have no backbones to do what is right.

    Mike

the vaccinated bus driver is a bad analogy...

we already know that the bus drivers' vaccination will actually hide symptoms, and make him more likely to spread the blessed virus to other people, whether they are vaccinated or not.

we also know that the bus riders that are or are not vaccinated and showing symptoms (are they checking temperatures before boarding ? they should be !) should not be let in board...

the bus driver will interact with more people in a day of driving than the passengers will in their short trips on the bus.

the plastic curtains , face diapers, thermometers, and hand sanitizers being used in the buses should be all that are needed to prevent transmission, if anything about the CDC guidelines are factual.

as far as having overlays over the players of both round ball and obround ball games, the people that watch those things are tv are pretty good at falling in line and taking orders .... that would be a really good place to spread the propaganda , if they're looking for an efficient method.

I think you're over estimating the intelligence of the average sports bar viewers , if you think showing the camera men, producers, or teams of assistants will help.... the viewing fans don't really comprehend "television has to come from somewhere" , they just think "it's on TV and I absorb what they say". at least from what I've seen it appears this way.

celebrities.... are just a waste all the way around lol

Not exactly that, but the NBA has announced players won't get paid for games missed because they don't meet the vaccine requirement of an arena or stadium.

A vaccinate individual will, in general, clear out active viruses from his/her body much faster than an unvaccinated individual (that's how antibodies work). The Vaccine does not "hide symptoms" it gets the body ready to fight the disease and clear out the infection before the individual gets seriously ill.

Note that I believe a significant number of "breakthrough" infections are actually positive Covid tests that have detected proteins from dead virus particles (due to an exposure and killed by antibodies) and these particles will not propagate the disease. Shortly thereafter, a negative Covid test shows the individual as "cured".

I, like Bob, am not medically trained, but I am a PhD level engineer that is trained in the scientific method and have a somewhat better understanding of how things work than the average person.

What about those who already had the virus? Wouldn’t they logically clear out new attacks naturally?

    Unions are like most churches.

Collectively they make noises about the "higher calling" but they only truly care about TWO things:
Nickels and noses, and if they were forced into a tie-breaker it would be nickels OVER noses.
20+ year victim of a for-real labor union, who has actually been on strike.

I've also worked in the private sector, and have 13+ years of active military duty....so I have experienced three major employment models. ;)

That's where there's a little bit of daylight between "science" (observe, research/hypothesize, test, analyze, report) and the modern religion of "THE" science. (obfuscate, bully, label, silence)
A swab or spit test can tell only if you have the virus in your body at that moment. But a blood test shows whether you've ever been infected with the virus, even if you didn't have symptoms.
I've seen very VERY little in the media that differentiates these or reports on the advantages of one over the other - unless it's the absence of a little white card.
(Military shot cards used to be yellow)

    I'm a full-throated advocate of vaccines.
They're a 17th century technology and have proven themselves to be a major reason why humans often exceed the manufacturer's warranty of three score and ten.

    However (comma!!!)

mRNA vaxes are relatively new, and I find it to be very shocking and more than a bit unnerving that people who are actually "SUPPOSED" to be believers in the "scientific method" are those who are using the pitchforks and torches to evoke the heckler's veto in this matter.
I got both shots, but my finely honed Spidey senses are tingling about human folly in prescription drugs.
Maybe this is because I'm an armature (immature?) historian, or perhaps it's because they haven't yet gone through the entirety of the interwebs and eradicated all mentions of drug failures (yet.)
You can forget about the past......but the past doesn't forget about YOU.....
10 dangerous drugs recalled by the FDA | MDLinx

I'd personally like to see a little more "observation" and "reporting" by HONEST BROKERS before I submit any of the children in my orbit to mandatory mRNA vaccinations. In this, I'm probably going to be "othered" by THE science even though I've probably been on the receiving end of more vaccines than "the average person." ;)

    meanwhile......
Government funded media and the NYT are already doing their thing......

Not necessarily so as they faced a suite of viral particles to develop antibodies. In contrast, the mRNA vaccine is targeted to a specific viral coating. It is the difference between a petroleum oil versus a pure synthetic that has exceptional properties.

there are a lot of rednecks, republicans and poorly educated people in professional sports. they are no different from the general population except that they are mostly all one percenters.
