    Hello everyone,

I have 2014 V and bought the Dr. Prius Pro app to test my car and get some information about it.
Then, I downloaded the Hybrid Assistant app found it to be much more rich in daily driving information about the hybrid car. I find it easy to read and the color coding tells you if something is out of range.

I wonder if there are other apps that Prius drivers find useful.

I think most will agree that DrPrius is focused more on the traction pack with a few other options available.
The Hybrid Assistant family of apps Hybrid Reporter and (Tire Assistant TPMS sensor location, tire pressure and temperature) has more options and fancy graphics along with the data.

I’ve got Clarista Bluetooth OBD adapter for Dr Prius; wondering would it work with Hybrid Assistant?

I have Veepeak Mini Bluetooth OBD2 and it has been working for both apps.

Yes. Should work fine as long as you are using an Android phone.

Only in Android is a major short coming for a very well thought-out product as Hybrid Assistant. Can it not be recompiled for apple?

The phone doesn't have to have cell service. You can get a used cheap one, connect to wifi and download the app.

Well worth the cost of used phone because it wil give you great feed back on how to drive a hybrid.
As well, it tells you when you are going 50 mph and the engine is only at 1000 rpm.
It gave me a better understanding of how little brake pads are used.

is there such a thing as beater phone? Thanks for the howto, I was thinking on older android ver. (maybe 8 oreo? ) and a pay as you go plan. Can the phones connect to wifi without a sim? I'll have to check the Hybrid Assistant docs for current minimum requirements. DrPrius requires android 4 as a minimum at last reading.

I got a refurb galaxy S3 years ago for the Hybrid Assistant/Reporter app. Phone was never put onto a carrier and basically works like a small computer. Still has emergency ability though.

And...HA is now combined with HR as one app instead of two separate apps.

Just tried the Veepeak OBDCheck BLE+ adapter in my 2017 Prius Prime with Hybrid Assistant. Can't get the MG/Inverter temperatures at all and the display refresh is very slow compared to the OBDLink LX. I'm returning it and buying a vLinker MC+ to try instead. Still much cheaper than the OBDLink but more expensive than the Veepeak.

The Hybrid Assistant web site provides a list of recommended adapters. I bought the OBLink LX and I'm quite happy with it's performance. At the time, a handful of years ago, it was $49 or $59 bucks.

It's about $120 Canadian now. I want to return the LX to the Tesla because that one has a lot of data to show, way more than the Prius. The HA site says the vLinker MC+ is as fast as the LX for about 60% of the cost. I shall see later this week if it works as well.

If you're buying a device just to have Android, you can get a tablet instead of a phone and have a larger screen.

Indeed, but I'm part of the 50% of North Americans that do not use an iPhone so I'm fine :D

Got my vLinker MC+ and tried it instead of the OBDLink LX. Same performance for 60% of the price :)

The following link shows the performance of both as seen by Hybrid Assistant. The OBDLink has finally returned to the Model 3.
