Hey everyone, I am stumped. I have an 05 Prius and I had four bad cells in my traction battery that I replaced, and when I went to start the car up after everything was bolted down, all of the dash lights came on and I can't shift into drive or reverse. I checked the orange switch to make sure it was locked down, and it was. I also unplugged the cable from the 12 volt battery for 30 seconds to reset the codes, still the same problem persists. Please let me know what I need to do.

    Welcome to Prius Chat (y).

I’d get the codes read so you know what the issues are and go after them;).

Techstream is the best software and you can buy the mini vci and old laptop setup which most have and it works well :).

Once you get the codes, post them here and we can help with the next steps (y).

Press the start button twice after disconnecting the 12 V battery.

If that is not the answer, read the codes and let us know what you got.

Locked down and slid to the side? Lots of people miss that the first time. If that's good, then you need the codes as other already said.

I know this is old, but I just ran into this replacing my HV battery. All kinds of weird codes I'd never seen before.

It was a grounding problem. Cleaned where the battery sat in the car, bolted down tightly, and started right up with all codes gone.

    Hope OP solved your problem.
