I have a 2011 Prius (that makes it a 3rd gen) and I live in west-central Florida. (no salt)

I take pretty good care of my car as I am a full-time uber driver. I saw today that there is 414000

Miles on the car itself. (see maintenance link below) Here is my problem, last November my Driver’s side (in the U.S.) low beam headlight went out, not a problem I don’t drive at night anymore (very little anyway) After a lot of troubleshooting and another bulb was tried I declared that bulb to be out. Not a problem so I thought anyway. In October of this year the high beam light went out (same side) so I ordered a couple new bulbs for it from Amazon. I tried one and it was similar but it was a 9005 or something? I take an H11 bulb anyway, I tried the wrong bulb once and I did NOT force anything. The car is just so old that the plastic was very brittle, and it broke. I saw it too. I was “like F””” lol”. (See picture below of broken socket) Anyway, I needed to replace it, so I got a pigtail and all the correct tools for this basically sissy job, and I cut the broken socket off and when I tried to “barrel connect it” It was too tight in there to do, so I am looking for a Toyota part number or link to one that I could purchase and just replace the entire side WITHOUT CONVERSION though. I would have my mechanic friend do it. I pay him and he uses all his tools and he has a few lifts and he is really good. I have replaced both of the actual light assemblies on this car and the headlights always worked awesome after each side was done.

That might be a sign of over heating. The headlight wiring is somewhat problematic on some Prius’ . Search the Forum and for “ headlight wiring” and you’ll find a lot of information regarding the wiring issues. I believe there are TSB’s from Toyota related to headlight wiring problems.
