Hi everyone. Using a Turnigy 4x6s quad charger. Seems to charge and discharge modules properly but it has issues I can't seem to figure out.

1.) The safety timer setting. I figured this would only deactivate the cycle when charging, but it seems to deactivate the cycle whether charging or discharging. Consequently I basically have to keep it turned off or the safety timer will turn off the charge cycle OR the discharge cycle if enough time has passed.

2.) The Capacity cut-off setting does not seem to work, which means it just keeps charging the batteries and doesn't stop. Yesterday I had the capacity cut-off set at 7000 mAh, but it was still going at 7700+ mAh with the voltage approaching 9V. I manually shut it down as the modules were showing what appeared to be dangerous bulging on the sides.

3.) Although the Turnigy 4x6s indicates it can discharge at up to 3.0 Amps in the settings, in practice it will not discharge at more than 0.6 amps. Is there a reason for this? (One possible explanation is that my power supply may be too weak. The only one I had available was a 100/240 6.0 amp power supply.)

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi
I couldn't get the charger to cycle.
I mean it's charging and stopping
It's not discharging and charging again
Any idea how to do this
    Thanks

The capacity cut-off does not work for me too with the Turnigy 4x6s. Set it to 7500 mAh and it kept going well past (7850 mAh) till I shut it off manually. What am I doing wrong? Maybe the capacity cut-off in the 4x6s does not function with NiMH batteries as it appears to do with the earlier model, the 4x6??

With regards to the discharge rate, it is not dependent on your power supply, only on the capacity of the resistor packs in the Turnigy unit. The power supply to the Turnigy unit is only needed in discharge mode to power its computer and cooling fan. BTW, despite having set mine to 1.0 amp discharge, I also see around a max discharge rate of 0.6 amp (as are many screenshots of Youtube videos).

I set capacity cut-off = 7250, and saw 7541 and 7462 in reality. I guess it could be related to re-peak function, I do not know much about it, my setting is 5.5A 1 (default is 10A 1).

There are two cons of Turnigy 4x6s quad charger: 1. the discharge current is too small (max 0.7A based on my and the above posting, though it claims 3A). It would take more 500min for discharge the battery to 6.0 vol, very time consuming. 2. it does not record mAh of the discharge and charge except the last one. We need to use web cam to record the data.
