This is occuring right after throwing the Red Triangle (P3000, P080A) , 3rd or 4th time "reseting" it via 12 volt disconnect. I know this is just ignoring the problem and intervals between the warnings are getting shorter (24-48 hours of driving). IR values are up to 28, what is the acceptable range?
This is the Dr Prius info, right after resetting everything by unplugging the 12 volt.

As an aside, I have to fly to WV for my grandmothers funeral and Denver Int Airport is about a two hour drive from me, all highway; my question is: have the intervals between Red traignles of death been so long because i drive almost 0 highway miles typically? Do battery packs work harder/less at highway speeds? In other words am I going to make it to the Airport on this battery pack? Or am i better off taking my gigantic van?

Thanks in advance for you help, nerds!

How far can a horse run with a broken leg? The HV battery might be fine, it might not (and you miss your flight). Or maybe it craps out completely when you get back to the airport and you have a two hour tow.
If you have no concerns about the reliability of your van then you should take that.

How badly do you want to make it to the funeral, and what's it worth to you? Would you be full of regret if you missed it?

    And the next question is
what do you do when you get back and the Prius doesn’t start at the airport?

It wouldnt break my heart, per say. But i'd look like a damn fool and miss out on seeing my extended family so Im gonna make it. As far as the return, This is something ive considered but ive let it sit for 3 days before, no trouble starting up (i keep like 20 different 12 volts in the car for this reason). Is there a chance the Traction battery could also deplete in a few days of inactivity? To where it wouldnt even start, given the proper auxillary battery voltage?

....Someone local (Denver) offered to make one pack out of the two I have and walk me through it so i can play whackamole myself. Hopefully he comes thru today.

What about those Dr.Prius results? Any interpretation? Voltage difference is only .4 at most, i think. Is 28 crazy high for IR values?

Here are some CarScanner results, for you interpretation. PLease and thank you.

Again the Dr prius info is here With the red triangle and AFter resetting the lights

Im most worried about the highway miles. Does the traction battery work less or more at a steady 70 mph? I imagine its mostly the ICE running things at that point.

But if it does crap out, your car may go into limp mode. This would become a significant impediment.

You’ll be happy to know I made it without any lights but my battery is seriously unhappy. I just made sure to drive so that it never dipped below 40% but it fluctuates way too rapidly. I figure it’s better it’s here in Denver since I can find no one up north to service it

The cheapest things to try first are getting a bottle of crc throttle body cleaner and crc mass air flow sensor cleaner. YouTube cleaning them instead of going in blind. Use a rag, something that doesn’t produce lint like paper towels. Take an air compressor to you air filter or replace it. Then, find a diagram and find your hv battery relay. Unplug it and see if it’s a bit dirty looking. Clean by plugging it in and unplugging a few times. The car will run better since it’s about 10 years old anyway. If you throw the codes again, then you know you definitely have to put a lot of money into it. They’re great cars. Worth it.

Ummm, why/how would ANY of that stuff have anything to do with setting a P0A80 code? That code sets when the HV battery ecu detects a difference in block to block voltage that exceeds a threshold.

The intake maintenance is good to do as needed, but is unrelated to the code. If there's a connection problem at one of the HV relays, it should set a code for that, not a "battery is weak" code.

How do you unplug the 'HV (hybrid vehicle) battery relay'? Or do you mean the orange service plug grip aka service interlock?

    Forgot to unplug my 12 volt but I’ve got plenty of backups for that. I’m thinking of finally spending the money for a charger/discharger, watching the full process via YouTube one more time, and then taking a stab at creating one battery pack from the two I have in the car;

My beloved workhorse is indestructible! I cant believe I made it home. Wasnt surprised she started right up. But upon letting it "warm up" for a 5 min smoke n beer, it set off the P3000 P0A08 Red Triangle of death, so it was back to reset. Then the battery was showing deep discharge to one bar/to full all green in 60 seconds. And I thought I wouldnt make it out of the parking lot. One thing I did note is that the MFD is a piss poor indicator of what's really going on (compared to watching the Dr.Prius data). But then I used the same strategy of monitoring Dr.Prius as I drove 60 on the freeway making sure to simultaneously piss of all my fellow motorists and not to dip the State of Charge below 40%, thus i really couldnt accelerate for more than a few seconds. As traffic cleared and I picked up a steady pace, It became easier to balance. Ironically, the battery seemed to settle or run best around 51.50 on the state of charge (california penal code for an 72 hr involuntary psychiatric hold).

Im kind of the opinion that Ive abused the hell out of this battery so badly that multiple modules are probably toast. Im getting my hobby charger today and am going to play with this spare battery pack someone gave me, As im only seeing one module that has discharged more than the other while sitting out of a car for a month or two. (6.23 volts vs the 7.99 others). Although, I know a proper load test will tell me alot more than just the resting open voltage. With that process i could use ALOT of guidance as I know there are components to the reconditioning procedure that i just dont understand. If not, in my typical fashion, i will likely proceed with my standard guess n check process of elimination type learning, maybe ill destroy a module or burn down my apt complex. But by god, I will learn something from it. Of that much, im like 80% sure.

Your image looks like it did not complete uploading. It looks like only 20-25% is visible.
That would be because it is a diagram the relates to the Gen 2 (not the classic) that is the subject of this thread.

I don't know how much cross-over there is, but best to keep information about different generations separate. For one thing, it helps limit confusion and bad information.
