So it just started 2 days ago, when it is chilly, not even necessarily cold out, my CD won't eject or play. It is strange, as I have never had this problem before with my Prius. Once the car is all warm from the heater running, it will eject, but it hesitates. I am wondering if anyone else has this problem before I call the dealership.....and I hope it is a warranty repair too.

Some CD's (especially ones from a library) are thicker and get stuck during eject (and/or refuse to play). I keep a small tweezers in my car to handle this situation and yes, it is aggravated in low temperatures.

The funny thing is, this is all CDs. I have never had this problem in the 2 years I have had my car. I don't think it is a matter of thickness as it is just the standard music CDs I buy at the store.

I remember that happening to me in another car. I could be wrong on the reason, but I think it's like this:
The cd get's foggy enough for the laser not to reflect back properly. Therefore the stereo thinks there is no cd, so no resaon to try to eject or play. I do remember when i finally did get the cd out of my stereo, it was foggy looking. It could be possible the lens on the stereo is foggy also.

Gotcha. That makes sense, espeically since my stereo will say CD Error after trying to play the CD and then will flip right back to radio.
