Has anyone come across another model wiper arms with J hook style to replace these obnoxious style wipers on gen4? I go through them pretty regularly. My local dealer doesn't sell the inserts. I've tried many rainx, Michelin and even odd brands hoping to find one that fits but they're just slightly different than most universal ones out there

I've had pretty good luck and continue to buy Bosch Beams. They stand up to the sun pretty good, which might be quite a bit different than your application. We have to go long stretches of hot and dry here. They are certainly available at a premium price also, but so is everything these days.

My drive is mostly farms so alot of bugs and gas stations have stopped filling their squeegee reservoirs so wipers and bug repelling rain x. I just wish I could swap to another arm with J hook. Gen3 is different by alot. Then I could swing by any parts store and get blades. My options are toyota or Bosch online order. Nobody else makes our blades

Bosch is all I have found, other than Toyota OEM which I am getting ready to replace here any day. I have also discovered that there is something in that bug juice that abrades the nice smooth edge of the blade causing premature streaking and noise. I can usually avoid using wipers to remove the bugs, but sometimes I get caught in a storm. If that happens I can usually avert damage by scrubbing the blade with Simple Green as soon as possible.

I've tried other brands and they all fall off when I tried to use them in heavy rains.....so glad I stopped them before the stupid thing scratched the glass!! So I did save the OEM's and put them back on and now I just get the refills from my dealer...who always has them in stock. (Parts: 85214-47110 and 85214-78010)

If someone knows of a compatible replacement for the arms themselves, I would love to run some standard j hook PIAA wipers.

I love those PIAA's...I've had a pair on my Tundra for years....very durable (the plastic parts give out before the blade, which is amazing!)

I like keeping things original so I just change the wiper inserts.

That seems like the easiest and least expensive way to go...

You can actually purchase just the inserts at the dealer for super cheap. About $6 each if I remember correctly.

Last purchased December 2020, so it seems that they've been better, longer, in the tropical rains here than the OEM wipers were.

I'm not saying they are the best ever wiper blades, but their action is equivalent to OEM, and they are still holding up.

Edit: The best wipers in testing that I've seen aren't made for Priuses. I'm happy with the ones I bought though; so much so that I ordered a new set of them from Amazon after typing this just to have them for an eventual change-out.

My dealership will only sell the wiper inserts in packs of 10 or 12 for over $100. They do not buy them because they will dry rot before they are all sold. Sounds like BS because they check the cars and constantly tell you the shape of your windshield wipers... and tell you that they need to be replaced when they do not.

I found this: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32887586264.html at Aliexpress. They have lots of types of wiper inserts.
Seeing as NO ONE sells inserts anymore... this might be worth looking into... only My car does not have the original wipers on it.

Wow that's pretty ridiculous! Have you looked online? You can probably order online and pick up at the local dealer. That's what I did with various parts just recently.
