What is it called and how do I take it off to wrap it with carbo fiber?

The black piece - that'd be regarded as the "C PILLAR".

Talk to a panel beater/smash repairer to get it removed.

I thought it might snap off as most plastic pieces.

I'd doubt it - internal pieces, yes, but an external panel, unlikely, otherwise we'd all find them missing when we parked our cars.

Wrappers don't remove pieces to wrap them. They just trim so that the pieces are visually correct.

Wrapping is easy. You need a razor knife, a heat gun and, for a job this size, 1 beverage.

There are lots of you tube videos on how to do it. That is such a small area that you will have plenty of opportunities to tear off and redo with a minimum purchase of material.

Buy the wrap with air channels for a bubble-free application.

Rpowers47 You are awesome. Too many people do not follow up. Were the mounting tabs accessible from inside the interior panels... or did they just have to be pried from outside the car. Six year old post, not really expecting a response.

The panel is secured by clips and tape in combination.

Yeah, it’s stupid, serves no purpose, and destined for failure. (Cosmetically anyhow). Why did Toyota even allow this to be part of the gen 4 design?!
