    Hi every1
Where can I get the water pump bolts? Well I don't really need the whole set but I just need the longer one. One of my bolts head got stripped so its hard to lose it now. Anyways to un-screw it if the bolt head stripped?

A small update on my blown head gasket. I took the thermostat out and the water pump doesn't run dry anymore. Now I know the thermostat works sometimes but not all the times. It damaged the water pump when it doesn't fully open so I just took it out. Now the temperature is around 130 most of the times. Perfect for city slow driving like delivering foods and etc. I will give a much more detail update later. I'm thinking of wrapping the radiator with insulation to increase the temp so I can drive a lil faster on freeway.

They are M8x1.25 flange bolts with 12mm hex heads conforming with the J.I.S. (Japan Industrial Standard). They can be purchased from a Toyota dealer or off of eBay.

Search "M8 JIS flange bolt." They are all over the place. I keep an assortment of them. They come in handy for all Toyotas.

Maybe the longer ones in question are the two -F0855s, because they go through the pump and the timing cover and into the block. The three -80830s at the outer edge there just go through the pump into the timing cover, so those ought to be the shorter ones.

The long one is 55mm in length; the short ones are 30mm. Since they are through bolts, and extra 5mm won't matter.

I'm picking up on an interesting coincidence between the mm lengths in Georgina's post and the last two digits of the part numbers in #7.

Is it certain that the long ones are through bolts? I think they go into the block, but I haven't looked closely to see if it just has some sort of flange there.

All of them are through bolts. I went to the car, looked, and measured their lengths.

    I stand boldfaced. :)

The more I look at this, though, the more curious I get. My 2010 liftback manual has all different lengths (35 for the long ones, shorter for the short ones).

I guess that could be a liftback to v difference, or a 2010 to 2012 difference? I wasn't thinking the 2ZR engine changed in such basic ways across Gen 3 though. Or is the difference a change to the pump? Puzzling.

I note also different specified torques for the two groups of bolts.

Bolt A is only 35mm (1.38 in) ... that doesn't look right. It got to be longer than 35mm. I think I may need to call the stealer ship for this time

this looks like the right one -

Get both? Not a big investment.
