Use a good light so you can see the opening on the headlight housing. Normally the connector end points down once its rotated about 90 degrees. So you start rotated 90 degrees from the final position. Insert the bulb without the cable to make it easier. Make sure it fits flat and rotate down. Once its in, snap in the cable.

If you illuminate the low beam lamp housing from the front (outside), you can see the keyed opening as the target and fit the lamp.

Also, once fitted, make sure you got it right. Turn on lowbeams and make sure you have a good beam pattern with the usual cutoff and squirrel finder rectangles of light above the cutoffs.

A bulb that is askew will have a terrible beam pattern and should be corrected pronto or you will melt the plastic mounting area of the headlight housing.
