Heater blow hot air only when engine kiks on?

    The Gen2 doesn't have coolant lines going to the exhaust- anywhere. The Gen3 has a heat exchanger that's behind or downstream of the catalytic converter. There the exchanger uses heat from the exhaust to warm up engine coolant and decrease ICE cold run tailpipe emissions.

    It depends- how cold it is out, how much you drive for how long at what speed. I would consider using a scantool to monitor coolant temperature while running the ICE continuously from a cold start. Temps should increase (slowly) until the thermostat opens at around 180°F.

    Thanks mr actually the treble is i am a delivery driver i have to stop after ever few minutes other day i start my car driven it around 10 miles the heater start working as used good nice and hot even when i stop on a red light the car stop engine and then stat the engine in a few seconds every think was running beck to normal but unfortunately the problem stat agin usely if engine is not hot enough my car shut the engine and start again in few seconds but now he dont kick the engine beck and keep running on battery/hybrid when i put my foot down then the engine start and hot air keep come beck but on the next trafic light when i stop engine stop andddd the he start throwing cold air

    I have checked the pump I touch the the pump by hand and tried to feel the pipes the pipes who come out from that pump was hot v hot so i think that pump is working fine
