New guy here. Just purchase a 2019 Prius AWD XLE and wondering if there is a workaround for getting navigation and music from my iphone to the main screen? Play music via Bluetooth? Also thought I had seen somewhere that Scout GPS app might work? I also saw somewhere about a $500 kit that would add Apple Car Play to the car. Any thoughts ideas appreciated. Thanks.

    Another new guy here!
I just got a 2017 Prius, I assume the audio system is similar with no in-built GPS?
My iPhone links to the car system by Bluetooth, no extras needed; once set up, it links automatically whenever I start the car.

With phone linked, I have 3 music sources: AM, FM & phone.
I selected phone as source, it found the iPhone music app and started my most recent playlist immediately.
I've not yet found a way to select playlist etc. from the car controls, have to stop & select on the phone.

Open the Maps app on the phone, enter a destination and press Go, voice directions come through the sound system; map shows on the phone screen, but down there on the charger is hard to see.

All map functions have to be done on the phone, no control from the car.

The wireless phone charger does work, but not fast enough; phone battery went low after about 5 hours driving (using maps) and the phone got quite hot.

I don't know what the Apple Car Play will do, have not investigated that yet.
If it does fully control the phone from the car touchscreen, I'll still have to make some better rig to charge the phone.

I'm looking at putting a TomTom or Garmin GPS on the dash, don't know yet if those can link to the sound system.

    Lots of questions.
Ok the 2017 is not car play compatible. Just use blootooth.
Hold the telephone answer button on the steering wheel. That will activate the cars “mobile assistant” which transfers your voice to Siri
You can then say “play playlist favourites” etc etc
If your phone is an 11 or 12 don’t bother with in car charger, mount a MagSafe charger plugged into a 2.4 amp charger. I velcro’d that to the charging plate.
