Ford gets it... (Apple CarPlay on a vertically oriented screen).

    I just saw this today in a co-worker's Mach-E.

    Apparently all of the other recent Fords that can have this large screen, can have CarPlay laid out like this. Toyota's software engineers need to get off their asses and implement support for this CarPlay layout in a software update.

    Not so much interested in the head unit / infotainment screen. My focus is on that CarPlay layout and how it's not squished like in the Prius.

    Be nice, Toyota has one homeless guy doing their entertainment and info screens, he is doing the best he can.

    I'm so disgusted( :p) by the 11.6" implementation of CarPlay that I've ordered this to try out:

    Dual bluetooth (the iPhone connects to the unit for CarPlay then the unit pairs with the head unit via bluetooth and forwards bluetooth commands to the head unit) means steering controls still work.
