No, more people are moving out than in. But that is still more than offset by having more births than deaths, so the state's population is still increasing.

when i used to visit my parents in vegas in the 80's, people were moving in from cali by the thousands.

they were building homes out into the desert, as far as the eye could see, until the crash came.

didn't look like heaven to me, but my parents loved it.

Be careful in the big cities. I'm in Houston, and my Prius had its catalytic converter halfway stolen. Seems the cat on a Prius is both valuable/ and easy to disemble. Yuck!

As if businesses didn't already have enough reasons to leave

California accuses Tesla of racial discrimination in lawsuit - ABC News (go.com)

“Attacking a company like Tesla that has done so much good for California should not be the overriding aim of a state agency with prosecutorial authority," the blog said.

"Tesla called the suit misguided and said the agency “has never once raised any concern” about its workplace practices following a three-year investigation."

but i don't think potential racism should be ignored. who did the investigation, the state?

we'll have to see what the facts show.

Yes. Colorado is A very popular destination. Half the cars in the Springs are from Cali and Texas….and I meet them and they complain to me that it’s cold…..Duh….Arizona is Hot….Duh….I don’t understand people sometimes.

Ya, ya, ya. And when I bet if you go to California or Texas you'll complain it's hot. At least I do. I respect that to them it's cold here because I can't hardly survive Texas or most of California from the heat. It was a nice cool -5°F this morning.

And I respect that. Here in the upper tundra of Colorado we have only three seasons. About 9 or 10 months of winter, then mud season. After that we get one day of summer and then winter begins again.

It's amazing how often Gunnison has the lowest temperature in the lower 48.

I'm just kidding of course of just having three seasons. I like all four seasons here. The spring flowers. The warm-enough-to-go-camping summers. The golden autumns and the bright white winters.
When I lived higher up in the mountains the coldest I saw was -52°F. Here in Gunnison it has hit at least -40°F many winters. In the Taylor area nearby there's a record of -60°F.

The coldest I've experienced was -30F, once in Wyoming and once in Iowa. And I have had to work outside once in something under -20 in Ohio trying to get a rooftop incinerator with a frozen gas line to start up. That was miserable!! But I still miss winter.

Colorado can certainly get cold. I was stationed at Lowry AFB near Denver for about 1 year.

The coldest I have ever gotten is in Nebraska. It was in January and if you went outside after being in a warm area and didn't have some type of mouth/nose covering your body wouldn't let you take a breath. Your respiratory system revolted at the temperature of the air. Probably the same thing happens in Colorado at the temperatures you guys mentioned . I forget what the temp was, but our job that evening was to shovel out landing strip lights so planes could see the airstrip when they came in. The plows would clear the runways but the lights had to be manually shoveled out. This was at Offutt AFB in Nebraska.

I attended Adams State College in Alamosa. Alamosa actually beats Gunnison.for the coldest town in Colorado.

From The ‘icebox’ of the nation | VailDaily.com
"...average annual temperature, ...kept by the National Weather Service. And, there, International Falls reigns supreme, being listed by the NWS as the coldest city in the Lower 48, with an average annual temperature of 36.4 degrees. The only mountain town that makes the top-10 coldest annual temperature list is Alamosa, Colorado, with an average annual temperature of 41.2...."
