Welcome back!! This fellow cool chick in a black Prius and long-suffering parent of a teenaged male missed your posts and great sense of humor.

Does there happen to be a Barcelona Red for sale now? They're almost as cute as the real thing . . . :D

I bought the $80 Toy Prius from ToyEast.com and I think I got duped. It looks just like the $10 car here. It has two doors that open, left-hand drive and a pull-back motor. Can anyone tell me if I was suckered?
    Thanks, Stephen

No way! Is that the one that was purportedly given to JDM customers waiting for their cars to arrive? I recall seeing it on the toyeast site; it is I believe pictured next to a yellow box with TOYOTA printed on it.

I'd bought two along with the model of the Prius GT, but they'd sent the order so I had to sign for it (even though UPS had no problem leaving my entire TRD suspension sitting outside the front door)...well, I never quite made it and so now the package went back to them, to stay.

Now, reading what you've written, I'm thinking that was actually a blessing in disguise.

The two scale versions are similar, though that doesn't mean you were duped. If all you were looking for is a little toy car to sit on your desk, then you paid more than you needed to. If you wanted a collector's item that's in limited supply, then you paid the going rate. Hopefully you'll be able to sell it for more later.

Thanks for the fast response. I posted from work without my toy car in hand. Now that I look at it, and the photo posted on the other thread (http://priuschat.com/index.php?showtopic=24938) which showed the 1/30 and 1/34 together, I see mine is a better model. And, on the underside mine says 1/30 size. I was philosophical about paying $80, and had accepted that I got a nice little model, regardless of whether I could have gotten the same thing for $10. So now I'm happy it's such a worthy deal, and ToyEast is a good vendor!
    Thanks! Stephen

To quote the Gods of Python, I'm not dead yet.

WeePri sales activity will be back here in early February (some more travels between now and then). I have been travelling A LOT since October (about 9k miles on the Odyssey and NOT WeePri), and, along the way, meeting and visiting with Hyo and Galaxee (no, not at the same time), plus, got a great pic of a line of Prii--a 2001, 2003 and my '06. Lotsa stories and pix, and maybe I will finally get around to sharing at least some of the notebook and gigabytes. Especially the pic of what Mrs Hyo refers to as his best side...

In the meantime, here is my absolute FAVE pic from the trip!

    The URL http://lh3.google.com/image/rufaroz/RbHQaW....JPG?imgmax=512 worked though.

Ain't technology grand? The original pic is in a Picassa Album--do you use Picassa, Bill? AND I can't get PC to let me post the pic from my hard drive, or to drag and drop it...So, I guess it'll have to wait until after my next (MUCH shorter) roadtrip, when I'll have some time to mess around with that stuff and to start up the WeePri Adoption Agency again. I think the WeePri drivers got pissed off and bored so they've been thinking up other ways to irritate me.

Later: Let's see if a hotlink to MySpace works...[IMG]

Yes, we all already know how obsessive I can be...

Many apologies to any/all interested WeePri adopters...I was called very suddenly back east last week for a family emergency (phone call from Boston one night at 10.15 pm pacific time, checked in to NJ hotel by 11pm eastern time the next night...God bless JetBlue!).

Once my jetlag abates somewhat, I will post and officially open the starting gate.

Hey there kiddliewinks...I'm still here, with lots of WeePris...and lotsa weedrivers driving me nuts...Doesn't ANYONE need to adopt some baby Prii?

Just got the windows tinted (in anticipation of a ride down through the CA central valley on I-5 where it gets VERY hot...not to mention REALLY boring), and Bruce is now a REAL stealthmobile...black car, sharkfin antenna, dark ( but mostly legal) windows, and a REAL nice wax job. VERY cool, both literally and figuratively! I had the tinting done at a VERY local place, which was probably not the least expensive I could have got, but I've had some questions the last coupla days, as the films have been "curing," and it's been VERY nice to just be able to drive over so close and have the owner KEEP explaining stuff to me.

The WeePris do NOT have tinting. You will have to deal with that later as an add-on!

I'd love to take a little black critter (or two) off your hands, more than anything in fact, but I live in Australia  think you could make an exception on the international shipping? pretty please :D I'm a fellow (closet) cool chick in a black prius ;)

    Thanks!
