    Hi all,
    2011 prius 144k miles.

Well, it finally happened - my battery went DOA - triangle of death. As a last ditch "hail mary" I tried to recondition using the prolong system, but no-go, battery still dead.

Went with green bean. Bought online Sunday night, an installer was here by middle of the day monday. About an hour from beginning to end to get installed. Got the lifetime warranty.

First thing noticed - better acceleration, old battery was probably slowly dying.

I drive lyft, so took it out this morning - 3.5 hours driving all over Pittsburgh - lots of hills etc. Ended up with just shy of 45mpg. Normally a little lower than that - say 42mpg depending on the day etc. Also noticed that the range when I filled up the tank went up to 550 miles. Lately that number has been somewhere in the mid 400s (around 450 or so).

I am posting this in someone is considering doing this, and a starting point if anything goes wrong. Hopefully I will also remember to occasionally update this as the experience with the new battery goes on.

    Thanks,
    Rob

$1844 for the battery, lifetime warranty and install. Plus $120 in taxes.

Dang, only an hour install time....it clearly wasn't the first rodeo for that guy! Great job! My wife only has 27,000 miles in her 2017 and, yet, her MPG is over 15 MPG less than my 21 Prius so maybe it's true that hybrids really do need to be driven more often than regular cars.
I've heard that if our traction battery cells get outside of specks, only 0.3%, we'll get that triangle of death. New Tesla batteries are running anywhere from $7,000 - $20,0000...oh snap!

To be honest, the guy who did the install was great, and if I weren't bullshitting with him and asking stupid questions, he could have shaved even more off the install time.

"Green bean"...is that because you have a green Prius? My wife's 2017 is green and she named her Tinker Bell...she named my 21 white Pearl Mini Pearl (I still need to hang a price tag on the mirror...you older folks will get that!)

Did you install the Prolong harness on the battery? So you can do the charge/discharge when it fails?
Hopefully keep it from failing soon...

I'm ok with people watching, but it's proven I make more mistakes when I do that, so I warn 'em...

I had to uninstall the prolong system - they said it was not supported by greanbean. Which is why I am selling it For Sale - Prolong Deluxe Reconditioning Package for sale | PriusChat if anyone is interested.

Try trading cars with your wife for a tank or two. The reason for the lower mpg may be the driver and not the battery.

Just wanted to give an update.

Well over 1000 miles, getting about 41mpg. I drive lyft so the days I drive I often get about 100 - 150 miles. The battery has done great. Only once did I notice it go down to about 3 bars. The rest of time it is about the 3/4 mark and above.

Hi all - update. I am now over 5000 miles and getting just under 42mpg. On some days while I am trying to do the "prius tricks" to get mpg, can get over 43. As for the battery, it is rare for it to go below half and seems to be running just fine.

    SOS!!!
Looking for a new or reconditioned battery for my 2011 Prius, the seller needs to be ok with shipping to Puerto Rico.

Thanks in advance for your help.
    Respectfully.
