    Thanks for the follow up. I'm also in the Bay Area and preparing to replace (mine has gone black about three times -' eventually comes back. Something is going on....

    its ur meter dying get it replaced, and its cold as hell right now in sf so ur meter will be black out till summer time or spring.

    I found this thread while searching the bay area for a shop to fix my faulty combination meter, but Petaluma is a bit far for me as I'm in the south bay.

    I ended up going to Kris's Mobile Speedometer Service in Cupertino. Good price (comparable to Matt's) and it took less than an hour!
