It is the ride height sensor for auto leveling the HID headlights. The small cast aluminum arm that connects the sensor to the car typically snaps in the middle. Also looks like the bracket is severely bent.

Need a replacement? I have 6 or 7 in the shop, lol.

Ehhh I dun have those yet, might get em later, right now on the agenda- lift kit and rear shocks and new Moog springs, last time I replaced the front I got new Moog springs regrettably before when I replaced the rear ones I didn't, and now they are dead. I can't even fit a jack under the back without jacking up by the front of the driver's door first. But my now 50 year old 6ft 2.5in body told me it doesn't want to fold in this car that low anymore lol.
Tmr-jwap I could probably use it for later cause hid's for my old eye sight is eventually on the agenda.
But at least it's not something I gotta do tomorrow

If you have the ride height sensor, your car should already have HID lights. Does your car have fog lights? Every Gen 2 that has fog lights also has the HID headlights.

I bought this thing salvage the fog lights were missing (still trying to track those wires down cause I bought a lower grill and fog lights but I can't find the wires so I've been driving lower grill less since I got the car what 6 years ago. the guy made a mess of the wires and he replaced the lamps with regulars, so I got to find the hid's at the junk yard eventually, I'll track all the wires to the fuse box then and rip em out of the junker. But for that I need to find a junker with rear damage and hid's terramir
PS what you think of my lift plan hehe

Do you ever drive at night? With a broken sensor, I wonder what the headlight pattern looks like. Is the shutter closed or open?

He mentioned that he purchased the car as a salvage vehicle. PO replaced the HIDs with Halogen model lights. Ride height sensor won't have much effect on the halogens.

I failed to get the pics properly at first so he literally couldn't see the pics cause I edited the post after to fix that
Put the lifts in the back now I actually can sit down into my Prius but I still need to lower my seat lol so I got better headroom but after I install the front lifts next tire swap will be choosing a wider tire with the same aspect ratio so total tire diameter 26-27 instead of the 24.5 we got now that will add another inch to the height lol
