    Hi all!

My new-to-me 2017 Prius ONE doesn't have a cargo cover.
Everything I see for sale online (even ones that say they fit Prius Ones) seem to be for the higher-up trims because it doesn't look like they will fit what my Prius One has goin' on, which looks like this (pic is of near the back of the backseat):

    Am I missing something?
Will the normal retraceable ones for the higher trims actually fit some magical how?
Should I be searching a different term?
Do I need to ask a dealership?

    Thanks!!!

That hook in the picture isn't present on mine. But the square hole is, and that's where the square ended retractable cover mechanism slots into on both sides of the car. The cover mechanism kinda squashes a bit so that it can fit into those square hole on both sides of the car and it then expands so that it stays there for as long as you like. Once fitted in place, you can then pull the actual cloth cover out from it towards the back of the car, and it the cloth cover slots into place onto slots on the very back of the inside of the vehicle on either side.

So to use one of these covers on your car, those hooks in the picture will need to be removed first as they will prevent the fitting of the cover mechanism/storage device.

I'm guessing those hooks are there for one of those stretchy cargo nets that will fit into the hooks you currently have fitted, but that's a guess.

Your trim of Prius came with a flexible cargo cover instead of the hard retractable tonneau cover. The hook is for the rubber string loop attachment as shown in the photo to this link: Flexible lightweight tonneau cover | PriusChat.

Hard retractable tonneau cover Cargo Cover Part Number: 6491047050C0 MSRP $601.51
Thin flexible tonneau cover Cargo Cover Part Number: 6491047080 MSRP $238.31

See this thread and the photo I uploaded to see the difference between the flexible cargo cover that came with your trim vs the hard retractable cargo cover for upper trims.

However, the square indentation is compatible with the har covers retractable tonneau cover. In order to use the retractable type, you must first remove the hook. It should just unscrew. The removal of the hook may expose the bolt hole attachment site, but you can plug it with a plastic plug if you want for cosmetic reasons, or just leave it go.
You can read on this thread how they differ:Jerry's Evolving Thoughts on "new-to-me" Prime Premium | Page 15 | PriusChat

Although this is for the Prius Prime, I believe both covers work on your Prius. But IMHO, both covers are almost useless. The hardcover tonneau will restrict the height you can place under it. The flexible cargo cover is more useful for that as it can expand and adjust to the toll item placed under it, but it looks "cheap". Using an old blanket or large beach towel would be far more convenient, useful, and cost-effective.

If you want to buy either of the covers, I have both flexible tonneau and retractable tonneau from my previous PPs. I don't need them.

I had the solid tonneau on my old Prius C and the flexible one on my Prime. I prefer the flexible retractable fabric one. The solid one is nice to have, but pops up if you've got some slightly taller cargo - this obstructs your rear view. You can place things on top of the cover, but again it obstructs your view. FWIW, I remove the rear head rest for a better rear view; pop them back in when I have passengers.
The fabric one just pulls over any cargo you've got. It easily pops out and stows away; if you need to lower the seats for larger cargo. The solid one; you'll have to figure out where to put it and possibly make a second trip back to retrieve it.

You will have to remove those bag hooks to pop the fabric cover into that indentation.

    Hope this helps....

Oh cool! Thanks! How much would you want for the retractable one?
