Wow, this one's stymying me big time! P. 283 of the manual says to push and hold the unlock and AC buttons on the remote for 5 seconds, while pushing the lock button on the key. Total gibbersish. I've tried to figure out what they're talking about, and actually got the two horn beeps, but no way to change it. I'm trying to get all doors to open when I touch the driver's door, so I can put groceries in the back seat without having to reach in and unlock using the door switch. My gen 3 was easy to setup so all doors, even the hatch, unlock by touching the drivers door handle from the outside.

Anyone figured out how to do it? Thanks.

Or just hold the handle a few seconds I believe. With carjackings as they are I’d think twice about opening all doors by default.

Yeah it said something about holding the handle on the passenger side, I tried touching it, what is required, holding it up? This is the worst written piece of instruction I've ever seen. Also, do they mean the inside handle or the outside handle? Do you have to do this while keeping the buttons pushed on the dongle?? Losing my mind over this.... :)

Just wrap hand around handle and hold until all doors unlock. I never use the FOB.

OK, so push the dongle buttons until it beeps, then hold the handle up??

No. Forget the dongle. You don’t need it to open all the doors. Just grab the door handle when you approach the locked car and hold it a few seconds. The single door will unlock and after a second or two all the doors will unlock. This is how it comes from the factory.

OK, I figured out that if I touch the drivers handle, it unlocks immediately, then just hold the driver door handle about 2 more seconds, and the rest of the doors unlock. That's progress, but it's not what I would like. I'd like, as in my gen 3, to be able to open either front door or the hatch, with the dongle in my pocket, and have ALL the doors unlock automatically. I live in a civilized part of Canada, and am willing to take my chances with carjackers, ha ha. Anyone been able to get that to work?

As I remember it it’s a toggle. Each time it beeps it either puts the all door function or off. So you press and hold either lock/unlock AND A/C. Wait for the beep. Do the same thing to reverse/undo the process.

OK, thanks for trying to help! Will keep plugging away at it. At least I know about the two-second delay hold opening all the doors, so that's something!

That worked! Now, for the hat trick, the holy grail as it were - - my 13 Prius Three had a setting that would unlock all the doors by just opening the hatchback or passenger door. Nah, too much to hope for...

Not sure about Canada, but the US base model Prius (LE or Plus) only has smart key capability on the driver's door. To unlock the car by touching the passenger door handle or hatch handle, you need one of two higher trims. You'll need to check the Canadian brochure to verify that up there.

Or look at the passenger side door handle for the 2 (or is it 3) indent lines indicating they are "Smart".

Even easier! (Assuming you're near the car.) (y)
