On Sunday, the Entune app on my phone stopped logging into Toyota and I was unable to get it to accept my password or to send me a password re-set email. Hoping that it was a temporary server problem, I tried several times over the next few days and finally phoned the Toyota customer support number. I was told that Entune has been discontinued and that my only option is to download the new Toyota app.

Does this mean that my ECO-dashboard sheep have finally gone out to pasture for the last time?

So far I have been unsuccessful installing the Toyota app on my Android phone. And this is a problem because I frequently used the charge management feature to check charging, the remote climate to pre-condition the vehicle, and vehicle locator.

Is this really the end or is Toyota customer service telling me only part of the story. (The person I spoke to had no clue what the ECO-dashboard is and said that Entune service was no longer available.)

Does anyone have any further information or suggestions?

The Toyota (and Lexus) app can be a bear to get working (sorry couldn't resist :D). First make sure your phone has the latest updates for the OS. Then I reset the network on the phone and then try installing. Sometime shutting down the phone and then trying reinstallation also works. And sometimes just putting it into Do Not Disturb and then back will help with installing an app.

I found the following features work "most" of the time.
    Current Mileage
SOC although it doesn't agree exactly with the GOM
Start Climate Control although I can't set the temp so I guess it uses the last letting?
Some ECO values and rankings but not Sheep, Oranges etc.
Search for locations and transfer them to the "saved locations app" in the navigation system.
I'm a 2018 prime. Later models may have more features.

Baaaaaa! Over the years I have really come to enjoy watching the sheep. I think they were a very creative way for Toyota to educate and train new PHEV owners of how to get maximum efficiency out of their Prius Primes.

I will have to download and attempt to install the Toyota app to regain some of the functionality which you describe. But I will still miss checking on the sheep.

They have gone to that wool farm in the sky. It is a sad day. I will miss them as well.

I migrated to the Toyota App a few months ago when I got an update to the Entune app that disabled everything and told you to get the Toyota App. Pretty much all of the functionality of the old Entune app works in the Toyota App for my 2017 Advanced. EXCEPT VEHICLE FINDER/LAST PARKED LOCATION. And of course, no sheep

For the past few days my odometer reading, miles to empty and traction battery SOC have gone missing on the Toyota App.

Last week I opened a case with Toyota. My 2018 has an active Safety Connect subscription. In 2018 only one subscription was available but included the features of both Safety Connect and Remote Connect. There was no separate Remote Connect for the Prime Advanced in 2018.
I pointed out that for a while after the new Toyota App was released some remote features eg. Remote Climate, Battery Level, ODO Miles and some ECO stats worked but now they don't. The rep had me go to the car and press the Red SOS button and connect with an Enrollment Agent and ask her what my location and car color shows on her display. She had accurate information so that verified my car can communicate information to Toyota but they are not displaying the info or enabling the missing features. I still think the earlier Prime Advanced is the red headed stepchild to the Toyota App. I'm guessing the Safety Connect w/Remote Connect features integrated are throwing them for a loop. At any rate today I got an email from Toyota saying my case is open and they are working on it. Not holding my breath.

My belief also. This leads me to believe that while the 2017 and 2018 Prime Advanced actually don't have Remote Connect, they hacked a subset of the Remote Connect functionality into only the Prime Advanced, and enhanced the Entune App to deal with them as special-case "Prime Apps". At least on my 2017, the Toyota App does present some of this ad-hoc Remote Connect functionality (such as Remote Climate, Charge Management, ECO stats), but does not present vehicle location, which is really the only one that is important to me.

I am not holding my breath either. These are 4-5 year old models, and they really are not motivated to fix issues in such "old" models. The standard fix would be "buy a new model; those functions work fine on them".

2019 Prime Advanced I've had an open case for 6 weeks with 'brand engagement' when my 'subscription' ran out at the end of Feb 2022, i was told if i purchase the 'safety connect' that would fix the problem. I think it did for a bit, but only for a little while. Now, i get emails saying they are 'working on it' but at best i think i'll be able to end my safety connect and get some sort of refund, here's hoping!
