I’m having issues after I put a new engine I forgot to put a new seal so I took it to hybrid shop and they did it for me. But it’s still leaking and there telling me I need a new transmission but it works fine. It runs very well just leaks pretty fast. I’ll post a video.

    Wait, which seal?

What's leaking out, engine oil or transmission oil?

The transmission oil is reddish and smells funnier.

Hybrid 911 at Garden Grove. They have great reviews and very nice people but not sure if the job was done correctly or maybe wasn’t the issue. They never told me what seal either.

Wow, that's fast. It almost looks too drippy/non-viscous to be any oil at all, could it be coolant? Or were the engine/transmission hot at the time this was taken?

That stuff is the wrong color to be any of the things that belong in there.

You think I should flush it and put new transmission fluid

Hybrid 911 didn't tell you what the leak was from? What type of fluid is it? What type of shop just gives a customer back a car with that leak??? That's crazy

They wanted to put a new transmission because they said it’s a bad transmission which I say it’s bs so I’m going to take it a transmission shop to see what’s the issue

So this car is not drivable at the moment right? What city is the car in? Hybrid Pit in Buena Park would be able to get you a proper diagnostic on the problem.

Hybrid 911 is not a very good shop, don't believe all the reviews you read

WOW! A couple months ago I changed the transaxle oil in a Gen 2 that came out looking like that. We never figured out what the stuff was. No leak, but it sure didn't look right.

As for the leak itself, it looks to me like they didn't get the surfaces clean and some foreign object (or a burr) kept it from sealing. I saw that burr situation recently with a spectacular head gasket leak. We gently filed it flat and then stoned it. Perfect seal after that.

you never know what additives owners will throw in the gas tank, coolant, crankcase and tranny, based on marketing hype.

I actually bought a rebuild engine there and they were a amazing people. I might call hybrid pit to see if they can see what’s going on. I thought they only build engines not do maintenance.

the car is drivable still the transmission is still strong just leaking that’s all. Right now I’m in Riverside.

Maybe that’s what happen. I wished I have a cherry picker I would’ve done it myself but need to rent one again to take the engine out.

It was only one owner so I’m the second owner. Might take it to the transmission, hybrid pit or rent a cherry picker and do it myself

It almost looks as if you have two leaks... One is a leak from the coolant system into somewhere that has dirty exhaust or less likely dirty oil and another leak where it's pouring out.

I wonder if the coolant system in the exhaust system has failed?

If I had to DIY the diagnosis I'd first try to track down if there's another source for the leak higher up rather than directly out of the transmission. Then I'd drain the coolant and the transfluid to find out which one is no longer pink/red and proceed from there.

Maybe if you look carefully, you'll see a bad hose that's leaking. And where you actually see the leak is not where the leak is coming from

You can just get a white paper towel and wipe the leak area. It should show what type of fluid it is. That leak is like running water, not sure how you're able to drive it.
