Ok I am new to this so please bear with me. I have a 2005 Gen 2 Prius 300K miles for about a year now I have been Getting the P0A80 code without any real issues but in the last month I have been getting P3021 (Low volts on pack 11). My question is if I have had a bad HV pack for the last year by getting code P0A80 why did it not tell me which pack is bad?

    Thank You for your help.

perhaps as the packs go out of parameters, the first code hits at a certain point in the process, and as it degrades further, the next code hits

You would only get a specific code, when one or all of the modules have gone beyond the internal resistance thresholds set by the by ECU.
Y you were only getting the p0a80 was the modules were probably still a little bit in a better shape. If you had a code reader, you'd have seen that the p0a80 was appearing in the pending section of your code reader.

read the balancing threads, i've never done it. there are methods for matching cells, and charge/discharge cycles. the more particular you are, the longer it will last before the next out of balance event. although, some like to just throw in the cells and take their chances. a few have gotten lucky.

My 2007 just started with P0A80 and P3021 codes. I swapped hybrid pack with one from another car that wasn't throwing codes. Now the first car is throwing same codes with different pack and the second car is not. I have a new battery on the way. But any.ideas why one car does it but not the car
