    Just purchased Prius #3 -- 2021 AWD-e
    (after owning two Gen3s)

I'd very much like to turn off some of the annoying beeps and looking for the best tool that will do all 3 of these if possible

    1. I want to change the reverse gear beep alarm to off or just a single beep
    2. I want to silence the seat belt alarm
    3. (most desired) I want to silent the beep alarm that happens when the Prius is ON but I step out with the FOB and shut a door (it loudly beeps many times and is super annoying) I do deliveries and so this is a frequent daily event that I would like to shut up ;)

My old ODB2 isn't working any more so I am looking for a new one but more specifically the app that I can do all 3 of these with. Has anyone successfully done #3??

Definitely can't disable the seatbelt alarm.

Not sure about the exit alarm - I suspect it's there for eternity, but ask the dealer.

Reverse beep - your dealer should have done that before you bought it - so ask him. Also, enable the GLOBAL window-down function if it wasn't done.

All 3 options can be customized by using Carista. At least that was possible on my PP, so it should also be possible on Gen4. See the screenshot of the app (red dot added for emphasis for the 3 items). You will need an OBD adaptor for $29.99 plus a subscription of $9.99/mo. But the App download comes with a free 30 days trial. You can use the dongle and app to customize everything you want then cancel the subscription before the end of the trial.

Edit: Note the screenshot was for the app for my 2017 PP. On newer cars after 2021 or later, it may be that the VPNS (spaceship sound at low speed in EV mode) can no longer be customizable. I have not checked on my new PP but at least that's the information I found out from the manual.

Yes you can disable the seat belt beep.

Carista can do it but I am also not sure about the beep when you walk away with the car in ready, but you can look the features available for your car on their website.

Might not want to disable that anyway.

There is another app called PriusTweak.
I have it for Android not sure if its IOS.
It does just the features you asked for.

Minus the one I wasnt sure about.

The PriusTweak app worked on my 2010
So doesnt hurt to try and see if it works.

    Also it is free

Yes... Carista app can do lots of customization. I turned off the reverse beeping and also disabled all the seat belt warning beeps. Sadly I can't get rid of the 8 loud external beeps when you exit the car and shut a door/hatch with it still in ready mode. I just wish I could change the amount of beeps or volume since it is super annoying with it being 8 beeps (compared to 2 on my old 3rd gen)

Thanks for all the beep and VPNS info!! I have had my 2022 Prius LE for 3 months and the VPNS below 20 mph and especially in reverse is annoying. I know it is required by law and for safety. I saw a post that other hybrids like Tesla etc have it (required by law), but what I'm curious about is: When a regular gas car backs up...they are quiet too, yes? What might be the noise level of a regular car in reverse? I don't hear them make hardly any noise so why are hybrids made to be SOOO loud? I know I'm just venting...but are gas cars in reverse loud in decibels? Any data? I don't hear them...unless they have a poor muffler!.... Their back up lights and their movement tell me they are there.

Thing is, a blind person can’t see the back up lights or movement which I think is the main point of it.

I do however agree. A lot of modern petrol/gas powered cars are virtually inaudible when going slowly, but they do not have any sounders.
Also, I have nearly walked in front of a rear engined bus in my local town due to it going slowly and having its engine in the rear, so why don’t they have some kind of warning when going forward?...

I just bought a 2021 Prius LE, and the manual lists several customizable settings, some that the owner can change and several that only the dealer can change. I returned my car to the dealership and requested that the reverse beep be changed from intermittent (constant) to a single beep. I also requested that the speed-linked fasten seatbelt beep be changed from on to off. They made both changes for no charge.

The seatbelt beep ... as annoying as it is, it does remind me to put it on at times. I'd rather keep it. The one time I just lived through it was on a low-speed dirt road into a state forest, and I think it took about three minutes to turn itself off without me moving the seatbelt.

I purchased the Carly OBD setup for Toyota but I’m having trouble getting it to do custom coding (get an error message). Anyone here tried the Carly system?
