I am curious and couldn't quite tell from this thread, when did the update become standard? I bought my C III in December and am not sure what version of Entune it has but I certainly haven't gotten any email or USB stick. I never use Entune as I read that it runs constantly on your phone and I didn't want that but I would like improvements to navi if this update actually has any. Also as others mentioned, I wouldn't mind a free USB stick haha.
The update through USB stick is only if your version is below 2.1.0. Starting from 2.1.0, the updates are over the air (using your phone data internet connection).
Thank you !!! so much for Uploading this, for us who lives in Hawaii, apparently Toyota doesn't consider us as a part of the United States, and all our VINs are not inputted in the Entune site (some thing about us been a special market and its not from US factory) therefor we can't even register with entunes. But because of you I'm able to update my 1.7.4 to 2.1 THANKYOU!!! Downloading almost done!!
How do I initiate such an update? I tried via the navigation menu on a 2014 Prius Five (with 2013 maps) and it prompted me to insert a USB drive or DVD-R. Thanks.
I don't use any Entune apps since I don't have a data plan on my phone. But I do use the navigation system. Is a map update included with the 2.1.0 update file?
Map update isn't free, around $150 for one! I will be using my Garmin with free map updates in the future. Too bad you can't have a Garmin app loaded.
Hmm.....Buy a Garmin for $99.00 with lifetime map updates or pay Toyota $150.00 for single map update? If I ever really need a map update that badly, it will be an easy choice. Of course, that all fits in with having to pay Toyota a monthly fee to access the Internet using your own data plan and have it appear on a screen in a car you own. The whole concept is out of whack.
in a 10 year old thread, the information isn't always current or pertinent. iirc, toyota has abandoned entune for their own system
