    Hello,

I have been dealing with this headache for months now, I replaced the abs actuator twice and now a third time with a Toyota OEM part, I bled the brakes properly and am still getting c1253. I replaced the ABS relays under the hood and it is still not working. I still hear the abs pump continuously turning on as well. Please could someone point me in the write direction.

When you say an OEM part, do you mean a new one, as opposed to a part pulled from a wreck?

Did you clear all the codes after doing the work?

If you did and you still have a C1253, then that points to a hydro booster pump motor relay malfunction. There are seven INF codes (which you can get from the freeze frame data (FFD) which can help narrow down the source of the problem. The seven possible INF codes are: 132, 133, 134, 136, 137, 138, and 140.

    Possible trouble areas are:
    • ABS MTR relay
    • ABS MTR 2 relay
    • Harness and connector
    • Brake actuator assembly
The troubleshooting tree for this DTC in the repair manual will guide you through the diagnostic procedure.

I put a Toyota genuine brand new part and yes I did clear the codes, as far as the INF codes go, I got 138 and I replaced the relays both for the abs the only thing left would be the fusible link but even that looks good from my naked eye.

INF 138 means the skid control ECU detected that the MTT input is 3.5 V or more for at least 2 sec. when motor relay 1 and 2 are off.

As already mentioned above the trouble areas are:
    • ABS MTR relay
    • ABS MTR 2 relay
    • Harness and connector
    • Brake actuator assembly
As you have already replaced the relays and the actuator, that only leaves the harness and connector. I have attached the diagnostic troubleshooting tree for DTC P1253 to help with that.

Note that one of the first steps (after checking the operation of the ABS MTR and ABS MTR 2 with Techstream) is to remove the ABS-1 and ABS-2 fuses from the engine room relay block and measure the resistance of the fuses.

You live in Virginia, per chance in or around fairfax county where they salt the roads until they look like it snowed on them when there has been no snow ???
If so, its the fuses under the hood (ask me how I know lol)
