Changed my traction battery ecu and relays along with 4 bad modules that were killed I think from being over charged. So far its working but it still seems like it might be trying to over charge during coasting an braking on occasion saw it jump to 70 or 80 amps of charging. Thought the battery ecu was the problem but I'm afraid it's more than that.

So will mine. They put the battery there to be used, not to look pretty. :)

I seem to remember having seen over 90 amps on my '05.

I don't even look but with the horsepower of the motors the electric ones the voltage of the battery 212 or so. And the protective fuse in the orange plug I think is 100 amp or 125 I would think being able to see 80 to 90 amps would be perfectly normal possibly a surge of slightly higher at times maybe. Certainly wouldn't seem to be overcharging I wouldn't think I think there's a circuit in the battery that kind of protects all that and I would imagine it's pretty stout but anything's possible.

There's a 125 amp fuse in the battery service plug.

It's not a super fast-blow fuse, so it doesn't prevent some brief peaks going a bit above that.

The programming in the HV control ECU and Battery ECU are really what impose the normal limits on what goes in and out, and it's safe to assume they're doing what the engineers intended.

By itself, nothing that you describe seems abnormal. The HV battery can briefly go to around 160 amps discharge (accelerating) and 90 amps charge (decelerating).
