I have to get my camera ready so that I can a picture of one of these cars that I see near the office on the way in, in the morning, and I haven't been able to find it on the internet but does anyone know about a subcompact car made by Ferrari? There are two or three of them around here and it's driving me nuts. I see them all at roughly the same time, in the morning and the Ferrari emblem on the front grille is pretty obvious. However, the websites that cater to Ferrari aficionados seem oblivious to the model.

Is it possible that the emblems are Ferrari but the cars are not?

Seriously, I want to buy a HEMI badge and stick on the back of my Prius right next to the HSD badge. Just for kicks and grins.

I'm not the biggest Ferrari follower, but I don't ever remember hearing anything about them making anything other than handbuilt ultra-expensive sports cars. Perhaps another make that has a similar symbol? I assume you are talking about the prancing stallion:

No, Ferrari does not have a subcompact. Their smallest is the F430 (previous model the F360), but it's not really that small. All others are larger.

I'm pretty sure what you saw is a red 1G MR2 (AW-11) with Ferrari emblems.

As an avid Ferrari fan I can say that there is no such animal! The Enzo, FXX, 612, 599 and 430 are the only ones being built right now. The Enzo and FXX are being produced in such limited numbers is hard to call them production cars. The FXX will only be 20 to 22 units. All have been sold already.

hope I'm not breaking any rules here but.... check out www.ferrarichat.com for more details .

    They're building the FXX??? dang!

But it's not street legal right? It's for owners to take to the track?

The F430 is the smallest Ferrari being made that I know of, but at over 3,100 pounds or 1400 kg I wouldn't call it a subcompact. Older Ferraris were a bit smaller. I've seen fake Ferraris built from kit cars or body modifications.
The second generation MR2 worked well for this. [IMG] [IMG]
(The red car is an MR2 with a bodykit. The yellow car is a Ferrari 355.)
The original red emblem on the front of my 88 MR2 confused a few people. [IMG]
Otherwise a Lotus Elise is the closest I can think of to a subcompact Ferrari without the brand or emblem.[IMG]
