I experience almost the same problem except more severe. I went to a customer to install a hybrid battery and as soon as I parked while the car was on ready mode ac blowing it showed hybrid system problem and everything just shut down with hybrid system failure warning. So I got my Autel but it will not read the vin. So I thought maybe it just blew a fuse . Check all fuse box and everything checked out fine. So I did it manually it worked. I scanned hybrid system it said no communication with pcm and it has a permanent replace hybrid battery code. I thought hmm that’s strange. I went to the engine section of the scanner and sure enough it would no even communicate. So I went back to the beginning and started with just OBD2 mode and it communicated with the PCM hmmm really weird I thought. Now I can look at the engine code. Code says overheating, so bad in fact that it disabled the car in purpose by stopping communication and even throwing that permanent code about a bad hybrid battery. It had a freeze frame so check it out and holly molly there were 2 red ones. One says temperature is over 400 degrees F!! and the other says RPM is over 6000 RPM!! Now I am really boggled. It’s almost like an alien craft was hovering above and disabling my car!! I am a hybrid technician by trade and have fixed hundreds but never experienced something like this so I called wrecker feeling ashamed I can’t fix my own car. It was a long way almost an hour and luckily I had a friend who had a trailer and agreed for 150. The strangest thing happened is when we got home I started the car. The engine kinda started as if it had been in a deep sleep for a while then it did it’s normal whine and low and behold all codes gone and I did not even have to delete them. The whole experience was like a dream. So I read in this thread about interference and I am now a believer. Whatever was in that area there must have been a very strong electromagnetic wave there that cause that much havoc.
