I'm a newbie to the Prius community so bear with me. I just bought a 2017 Three Touring. I had it for 2 days and the lights on the dashboard started lighting up like a Christmas tree. Everything from hybrid system malfunction, performance collision system malfunction, check engine light, clean radar sensor, hybrid syetem overheated reduce output, and well, you get the picture. So I take it back to the car dealer. They decide it's either a clogged up filter (dog hair) under the passenger seat and/or the water pump for the electric motor. Everyone that could repair it was booked three weeks out. They said it was okay to drive (without the filter because they had to order one) until the mechanic could install the water pump in about 3 weeks. At that point, even though it was annoying , the car was still running good. Yesterday, it started having a hybrid system malfunction. Pull over in a safe place and put shifter in P. pop up and had a beeping noise as the vehicle was moving. When stopped the beeping became a constant noise instead of a beep until I put it in park. I stopped, put it in park, turned the car off. I waited a short time and started it again. It ran a bit but when I stopped to turn somewhere, it didn't want to accelerate which is dangerous in oncoming traffic. It did after a bit and ran decent until I had to go up an incline and it just pretty much lost all pull then. I was basically home or I wouldn't have ever driven it after it did that when I was turning. Has anyone else had theirs do this? I feel like the dealer shouldn't have ever told me it was okay to drive it like that. Right now I'm sitting on an expensive vehicle that I am afraid to drive, even to the car dealer, and I've only had it 11 days.

Sounds like an inverter pump. Three weeks to wait for a mechanic is nuts!!! Someone might know of a better shop near you if your location was just a tiny bit more specific.

No, it's a car lot and not a dealer. I ran the VIN before buying and I couldn't find any recalls so I don't know. Thank you, I changed it to 2017.

I agree but everything is turned upside down these days. My son was in an accident in January and his truck still hasn't been fixed. It's terribly insane. However, I got in touch with the dealer that I bought it from yesterday and they have a mechanic going to look at it if I bring it to them today. Funny how they are available now but as long as they get it fixed I don't care.
