I know it's possible because I've previously done it, but I can't remember exactly how you do it -- I really thought I had bookmarked the procedure, but I can't find it at all. How do I initiate the linear solenoid valve calibration sequence without a scan tool again? I seem to recall that you short pins 4 and 13, but what -else- do you do? [Edited later to add: for this specific thing it isn't 4 and 13 -- see below] And while I'm at it, I'm guessing that needing to do it twice in 6k miles suggests something is wrong in this department too? Thanks in advance!
Never heard of it for Prius? If you do figure it out please let us know... Also would love to see if the aftermarket upgrade solenoid can be calibrated as well: https://www.redbullet.net/ It definitely looks way better than OEM. No hesitation when you pull out into traffic!
Yes! That's what I had been looking for! It worked just as it should have. Thank you very much! Edited to add: in case someone sees just this post instead of ChapmanF's original, it's pins 4 and 12, not 4 and 13, for this specific task.
... but it's not a bad idea to just click the blue link to the original post, as it's got details in it besides two pin numbers.
Indeed it does! I added that because I almost shorted the wrong pins before applying the rest of your excellent instructions. Thanks again.
