Had some exterior mods done to my prius - headlight film & jdm plate.

Next week i'm having it lowered on Eibach springs.

I put the JDM plate on because the front bumper was already drilled for a license plate . That should hold me over until I get some plugs. Went with Lamin-X (Lamin-x Protective Films - Protect with Style) blue film on the headlights, and Lamin-X yellow film on the fog lights. Tint is llumar, 40% all around. I'll get a side profile shot of the tint up when I have my car lowered. Shades of Gray tinting in Philadelphia did all the work, took about an hour: Shades of Gray Window Tinting - Bucks County and Philadelphia

So you're using standard bulbs with a yellow film?

That's correct. I'll most likely switch over to some sort of hyper yellow fog light bulb when my oem bulbs burn out.

Are any tints on the headlights or taillights legal in CA?

Probably not, although i drive around with my lights on 24/7 and you can't really notice it in that case. Just makes the HID's look super blue/purple.

LOL that plate had me going for a moment, I couldn't figure out how a guy in Philly had a plate from Fukuoka. If the cops give you a hard time tell them you just drove over and haven't had time to get to the DMV.

My brother got ticketed for having a foreign front plate on his car in California. I drove my Eagle Talon for 10 Years with no front plate, and never got anything. How lucky do you feel? Personally, I don't get the foreign plate deal. In LA you see lots of Bimmer and Volvos where they add the regular CA plate over their Euro-delivery plate. I don't understand that either. "Look, I went to Europe to buy my car!" So what, who cares? ... if it works for you, go for it.

I swapped out the original headlight assembly for the DNA smoked headlight.
