    Hi all,

My name is Mike and I have a 2013 Prius with 220000 miles on it. It’s generally been a great vehicle for me. However I’m having a recent coolant issue the last month. The coolant seems to be leaking out of the reservoir tank at an alarming rate. I pour coolant and it almost directly leaks onto the floor. Now that I think about it, I was in marmot country a while back right before this became an issue. I wonder if they chewed on any hoses. Anyway any advice would be appreciated. I’ve taken it to the dealer and they can’t find any obvious leaks. However, there is obvious coolant all over the wheel well on the passenger side. So there is a leak someplace. Anyway thanks in advance.

If it is leaking that rapidly while standing, it should be directly observable. Is the car running while it is leaking?

Run the engine on maintenance mode and watch how it leaks.

Time to purchase an inspection mirror, something like this:

    Telescoping Mirror

If you suspect the reservoir I'd get a replacement and try to replace it...

    REVVL V+ 5G ?

There is something wrong with these facts. First the dealer can't find any leaks. Second you pour coolant in and it almost directly leaks onto the floor. These two don't correlate.

If there was a direct leak both you and the dealer could find it, especially if all anyone had to do was pour it in. So it would seem the engine has to be running and the coolant flowing and or pressurized. So you can drive the car for ten minutes to warm it up and then shutdown. At that point put it in Maintenance Mode and force the engine to run continuously. Then look for the leak with a good light and mirror. If necessary pull off the air box.

But it might be overheating and releasing coolant at the pressure cap. That makes a mess around the reservoir.

Maintenance Mode to Continuously Idle Engine

    Press Start button 2 times
    Press Gas Pedal 2 times
Press brake and shift to Neutral

    Press Gas Pedal 2 times
    Press Park
Press Gas Pedal 2 times (hybrid warning light will start flashing)

Press Brake and Start button (starts engine, don't drive it, shutdown to return to normal)
