Cabin air filter part number

There are several Toyota part numbers for the cabin air filter on second-generation Prius cars:

• 87139-28010 is for model years 2004–2009 (Japan), and 2009 only (Europe, Australia, etc.)
• 87139-47010 is for model years 2004–2009 (U.S.) and 2004–2008 (Europe, Australia, etc.)
  
• 87139-47020 is an optional “deodorant & pollen filter” (Japan and U.S.)

In the U.S., Toyota offers local substitutes: 87139-47010-83, 87139-YZZ19 (standard electrostatic), or 87139-YZZ03 (premium charcoal).

 

How do they look?

 

Ok. Yeah it's just sometimes people feel obligated to change them due to the schedule, when they're still viable.

 

Fram makes that filter The Gen 2 and the Gen 3 the Gen 3 is different I'll have to go look for the part number for the Gen 2 and they're only like $9

 

i use the oem charcoal filter. tried a few aftermarket, and they didn't fit well.

 

The fram poly filter fits my tray perfectly and there are other ones you can buy and trim to fit they're not pleated in other words there's other filter material that you could trim and lay on the tray too that could be endless. I use the fram pleated Walmart has it it's like $11 generally when I buy them. They fill up with junk so fast stuff runs down the plastic under the wipers down the tray even acorns can roll right down on top of the filter so usually once a week I try and remember to swing the glove box down just pull it out knock it off put it back in.

 

Yes and when the seasons change I make it a habit to not be under the trees that all the crap falls out of like the squirrels eating the acorns and all that type of residue The leaves don't so much make it through the tray but the pieces of acorns little nuts tiny sticks and all that will drop right on that filter like it's made to catch them and it fills up fast One thing it does help with those it keeps the leaves and little pieces from getting into the fan and sounding like your bicycle wheel with cards clothes pinned to them remember that is kids right
