Hello, I just turned 66 yesterday and got a great birthday present, not! I got in my 2014 Prius C and instead of seeing my drive display it said that there was a problem with the hybrid system and if I didn't pull over and stop immediately it was going to completely explode. Sorry, that's not actually what it said, I may have embellished a bit!
Anyway, I'm very mechanically inclined having been a farmer all during my twenties, so I've watch the video on how to replace the battery cells, but I'm having difficulty finding out whether these battery cells are interchangeable between various models of Prius, and where to find a source for the cells.
Can anybody give me a quick primer on what models battery cells are interchangeable?

Do you have an OBD2 scanner? and how much are you willing to spend on the battery or on a new battery? you could try this

you need a prius aware scanner if you're gonna diy. assuming 'check hybrid system' means you need battery repair, (which it doesn't necessarily) an app like doc prius could give you a health check, and module voltages.
in the meantime, check the cooling fan and intake grille for cleanliness
