I received a letter from Toyota last week advising me that a voluntary Customer Support Program had been initiated for my vehicle.

The letter lists trouble codes (C1391, C1252, C1256 or C1253) that, if verified, will replace the Brake Booster and Brake Booster Pump Assembly.

I believe other Prius models have had support programs for these parts malfunctioning, and now “certain 2012-2014 model year Prius c” have one as well.

These are not cheap parts and repairs, so I thought I’d share, since I don’t see anything about it here yet.

Primary Coverage is applicable through November 30, 2022 with no year / mileage limitation.

Secondary Coverage is applicable for 10 years from the date of first use or 150,000 miles.

Just got what must be my 2nd letter on this Customer Support Program 21TE01
I have not had the respective warning lights illuminate for me. It's too bad Toyota won't be honoring this past 10 years of ownership. My 10th anniversary is right around the corner.

My C has been exceptionally reliable, but am beginning to wonder if the brake booster issue will decide to "pop up" for me in the 11th year.

Anyone had this service performed? wondering what the fix would cost out of pocket? $500? $1k? Thanks.

I had to replace these 2 pieces by myself with new ones. Sill Toyota has not sent anything. Annoying the amount of money i had to put in this car a few months after buying it due to these 2 defective pieces, and then the hybrid battery went out.

I received no letters and have had no issues so far. Only some seems to have it. I also have passed 10 years of ownership. If I need to do it, Ill get the techstream and buy the parts 30% off no tax.
