You should've saved 500 bucks and bought a 60 dollar code reader . It's a lil computer to tell what's stored in Eproms of vehicle .you need this to avoid fees 100 to 400 diagnostic fees so tool would've already paid for itself . We will tell ya how to use it . No issues their. Basic decent thought processes aren't really needed . It's like assembling one color Lego blocks . It all runs together . They're saying brake actuator is bad.1000 dollar part. Plus..at a shop over 2K. So if not willing to learn to work socket and rachet a few wrenches . We won't be going anywhere.....

 

unfortunately, we're not magicians, just chatters. i would look for another dealer or better yet, a hybrid shoppe

you might be able to borrow a code reader from a auto parts shop or someone and read the codes. the specific codes might help narrow it down.

 

i re-read your original and it says there is a brake actuator issue. unfortunately, if you search 'brake actuator' on this priuschat forum, it is one of the more common issues for older Priuses and its also very expensive.

 

Part can be problematic to locate in JDM the cars named differently but same part available from importers like it is for gen3. Almost anyone with tools could get it in. Bleeding will take a few minutes to skin . Drop it off somewhere 1900 to 3K depending.

I have 70 mpg powersports equip to drive to parts store etc whilst I'm doing this. But I try n have everything in. Place day before I start project.
