Good morning folks, so the ongoing issues with the Toyota App continue. Right now my remote start only goes to 65 degrees. Attempting to defog the windows at any other temperature defaults back to 65 degrees. Really sucks. I don’t understand why they won’t fix it. It’s seriously like they don’t care. Anyone else still having this issue? It’s better than when it wouldn’t work at all. However it’s almost not worth the $9 a month if that’s all I can do.

Your issue with Toyota App not working correctly on older PP which had Entune is not a new thing. Even on newer PPs that originally came with Toyota App also often do not function correctly. Yeah, the "Remote Connect" service offered for the PP is really not worth the cost. Toyota has never been known for a good reliable infotainment system. I personally have never found a remote app or even remote climate control from the fob to be useful for my PP.

That being said, you are paying a subscription fee for other "features" such as Safety Connect which relies on the car's ability to locate and communicate with the Toyota "mothership" in case of emergency. So, if you value such safety "features" of the services, then you should continue to pay the subscription.

I did not have telematics on my first PP (2017 PP Premium), but I did have telematic as standard on my newer 2020 PP LE and on the current 2021 PP Ltd. I refuse to pay "subscription" fees to use my car. So even while they are free during the trial periods, I did not want to use them. I actually called Toyota Customer Service Center to "opt-out" of the telematic-based Connected Services that came active with my PPs. If I never use the "feature" I will never miss it.

  3. My remote preheat will set to 85 with defrost, front and back. When you first turn it on, it might say 65 at first, or something like it's currently below 65 as the air is still cold.
But if the car is not actually heating up after 10 minutes of preheating/defrosting, then you may want to call Toyota support to ask them about the temperature not being set, as you are trying to do.

My Toyota App on my 2018 runs fairly well now. The only remote start error I had was user error. I didn’t lock the doors.
