I have the same experience. Of sudden braking above normal . It's like total brake lockup , like hitting a brick wall . I,ve never driven a car with this kind of brake response of total sudden all braking lock up when I slam on the brakes hard they totally just lockup . Light braking is fine . So this is a feature of prius with the abs feature till yu start sliding then it eases up.on each idiuvial wheel preventing more sliding???? Very bad in winter in snow and ice as it sliding even worse because all 4 brakes are locking up . Any help in this area of just lighting braking maybe .. ????

I haven't checked whether the "ABS History" retrieval in Techstream shows events where Brake Assist kicked in. I know it shows both traction control and ABS events.

That might be a good way to find out whether the behaviors being complained about here were really Brake Assist or something else going on. If they were Brake Assist, the freeze frames captured with the events might suggest why it was triggered.
