Yes. My 22 nightshade which I picked up in Feb has the illuminated sills.

Is the spotty lighting normal or should it be fully lit?p

I can't say for your vehicle generation, but for my own generation, it was part of an option package. Among my circle of friends with Prii, only one has it.

I still need to look at the passenger side but I would think the lights would be on all the way up.

Gotta say: I wish they'd offer non-illuminated door sills. Better yet, make them a relatively self-healing plastic, durable, and standard equipment on all levels. Sexy, lit-up Prius badges and brushed metal are not what I'm looking for. FWIW, our 2010 had the illuminated sills when new. I'm guessing someone was lined up to buy the car, ordered the sills, then the deal fell through. The build-date was 15 months previous, and we found it way at the back of a display/storage shed on dealership lot, covered in dust. Dealership didn't even mention them, probably to avoid us noticing the build date and history. Worked out well anyway.

Illuminated door sills were part of the Touring Package in Canada.

That's what I was thinking, and that very well could be the case. I did see this in the brochure though. Maybe superseded??

As long as I had the brochures out, couldn’t resist, what a change in mindset, 3rd to 4th gen:

Well if you had the base or Premium package, you may have wanted to add it to your car so that’s why it was offered.

Lemme check my stuff when I get home. I do remember it was a late addition to the package.

Today I noticed the outside temp reading was blinking 37 degrees (I am not sure how long it was blinking) but then it changed to 38 degrees and stopped blinking.

Any ideas what might have caused it?

Freezing / possible ice on road warning.

On both my Prius and Subaru, this happens whenever the outside temperature drops to 37F. It does not continue at lower temperatures.

I'll have to watch closer at startup. When starting in those temperatures, I'm usually focusing on getting the climate control set for window clearing, then stepping out to clear the exterior.

Hmm, you're right. My 2010 brochure shows the same.

    upload_2022-12-24_15-47-13.png

But the 2011 brochure adds it

    upload_2022-12-24_15-47-31.png

It could be a last minute addition that was added after the brochure was printed.

the primes dash temp gauge blinks for 5 seconds at initial start, whenever the temps it's reading are 37 f or lower.
Take it to mean whatever you think it might be trying to notify the driver of.

37F is 3C - Flashing indicates the “potential of” ice warning
Standard warning on most cars in the UK at least
Had it on my Toyota’s Vauxhalls and Fords
