I acquired a Bluetooth OBDII module (vendor=BAFX) and downloaded the Dr. Prius app to an Android tablet.

Did I miss the user guide that tells me how to authenticate my personal license and use the Dr. Prius app?

It's clear that the folks that wrote this app are rocket scientists but useful information on their app is scarce to non-existent.

Could I ask these questions abut Dr. Prius in hope that someone in this forum could answer them?

    1. Before you pay the $12 personal license fee at the Google Play store, does the Dr. Prius app have any functionality whatever beyond making colorful screens?

    2. Is there an icon anywhere on the Dr. Prius user interface that confirms that you've paid $12 license fee and the personal use license has been has been activated on your Android device? Are you asked to enter into the Dr. Prius app an authorization code that flowed from the license purchase?

    3. My Galaxy Tab A8 tablet pairs quickly with the BAFX Bluetooth OBDII module, but what visual confirmation does the Dr. Prius app give that it, too, exchanges data with the OBDII module?

    4. Does the 10:21:3E:47:76:80 MAC address below the OBDII icon confirm that the Dr. Prius app is handshaking with the BAFX OBDII module?

    5. Opposite the Bluetooth OBD2 icon is a second selectable choice: WIFI OBD2. Is this option for a different class of OBDII module that I did not purchase? Will I ever need to choose the WIFI OBD2 selection?

    6. How do you start the nifty battery tests that are described in the Dr. Prius videos? I'm looking for button that says START or BEGIN but there is none.

Thanks to anyone who can provide insight on these questions.

You can test your OBD adapter with the app and use it for free.

The purchase is if you have a fleet of cars.

    stick with bluetooth
open drprius - turn on your toyota or lexus hybrid - tap the pair button in the drprius app.
    It's not rocket science.
to do your tests look in the upper left hand corner of the app for the 3 parallel bars and tap it for the pull down menu that includes the testing options.

The license price has increased a few bucks and the internal resistance gauge has been moved to the subscription features.

I don't want to put a pay source on my phone for the play store, but I think I make an exception for the one buy sometime sooner of later. Don't forget about me jack ....

Does the Prius have to be in ready mode (and not just on) in order to read codes?

is it a problem to put the car in ready mode to see codes? Is DrPrius the only code reader you use?

It can just be "ON" IIRC.

You can have it in any mode.

That way you can check the temp and other stats while driving and adjust the fan in the app too.

Oppps , the fine print that I didn't read correctly mentions that the Delta Ratio is part of the subscription services. My internal resistance graph ghosted for 2 days and I thought it was removed from the free app section. It came back on the 3rd or 4th day than took a few more days and some warmer nights to settle back into it's normal state.
Color me embarrassed for not reading the fine print right the first time.
