Wanting opinions and ideas on which route to take on an issue. As you can see I've included screen shots from tech stream as to what's going on. Long story short car sat for 2 days and my 12v battery died so I had to charge it for the car to start then this started happening. I'm assuming banks 1 and 2 died on me. As I was researching I read allot about the pins on the battery ecu getting corroded and breaking off so tonight I pulled the battery and checked that and there was 1 pin that had a little corrosion on it but that was it so I cleaned it and put a little dialectic grease on it and put everything back together but nothing changed. I'm a little baffled on some of it being as car is driving but when I accelerate hard it surfers surges periodically but the battery charges all the way to green. Of course you can see with the screenshots banks 1&2 has low voltage under load but is fine at idle. So in a nutshell that's where I'm at. What would you all do next? The buss bars had minimum if any corrosion on them too and I forgot to mention that. Is there something else I need to be looking at or just replace the battery or replace those 2 cells? Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.... Dale
I'm sorry looks like banks 2&3 and it wouldn't let me upload but 2 pics. Here's some more. The codes are p0afa and p3000
So how fast does it go from magenta to blue to green and back Is it changing rapidly in Morse sporadically than you ever noticed before do you never look at that screen That's green in your screenshot now? I advocate buying a new Toyota battery if you can't buy the lithium ion project whatever battery. So that's what I do I don't play them swap cell or any of that. Drop in a battery be done . Worry with other things .
You have a wire harness problem (the one with all the small sensor wires on the battery) or the ecu pins in the socket. You can't have a negative voltage. Some sh*t is just so obvious it gets overlooked. Fix that first and go from there.
+1 to TMR-JWAP Something is broken (open circuit) somewhere between the studs on the battery & the battery ecu circuit board. Could be the wires at the ring terminals for the battery studs, could be the terminals in the ecu connector, don't know exactly what but it's there.
