Good to know. What's the cost of the lifetime wheel alignment ....If you know ???

Actually I looked it up . It costs $200.00 for the lifetime but they run coupons several times a year with up to $60.00 off the regular price. That's not too bad if you're keeping the vehicle for a while.

The fine print says a free alignment every 6 months or 6,000 miles for every year you still own the vehicle. That's actually a pretty good deal. Especially here in New York with all the monster pot holes. New York pot holes will rattle your fillings loose !!!

Took the Prius for a spin yesterday and all is still well with the front wheel bearings. Don't want to jinx it but I think the Detroit Axle wheel bearings are going to work out just fine . I'll keep you all posted. They were a third of the price of most other brands

Also the Detriot Axle Front rotors and Brake pads have broken in nicely too.

Another 1,000 miles and almost another month in and all seems to be going well with the Detroit axle bearings and brake system. Also the difference with the new struts is unbelievable. Wish I changed them sooner.

Another couple of weeks of minimal driving and all seems well with the new parts. The outer surface of the brake rotors do get minor surface rust on them from sitting for long periods of time and being rained on, This car sits outside, But just a few taps of the brakes while underway quickly removes that surface rust with no harm done. So far so good with the Detroit Axle parts.

So far so good with the front wheel reassembly but this morning my 12 volt starter battery is dead. Only 18 months old . Looks like I'm headed back to Pep-Boys for a replacement !!!

Good old Pep Boys....They no longer have retail stores and only do repairs and installations so I'm having to go thru Bosch for the warranty . Never ends

If the Bosch battery lasted only 18 months it is an issue. I bought one Bosch for my other Prius which I sold a year later. On the Prius I still own, I have replaced the 12v battery once in 16.5 years with an OEM. Maybe it is time for a new one before it fails now on the 9th year.

Not quite. TWO 12V batteries in 16.5 years.

The factory 12V was replaced at about 7.5 years. He put in a Toyota 12V that's now about 9 years old.

Yes this car has been kind to me. In 16.5 years and 178k miles I paid for tires, oil, filters and fluid changes plus
    1. Water pump 2009 $40
    2. 12v battery 2014 $200
    3. Front brake pads 2017 $60
    4. 3 way valve 2018 $120
    5. Front Wheel bearing hubs 2019 $200
    6. HV battery repair 4 modules 2020 $550
    7. Liftgate trim 2021 $90
    8. Stolen catalyst 2022 insurance deductible
    9. Combination meter repair 2022 $150
I did most of repairs DIY and paid only for parts except the HV battery which I had it done professionally.

I replaced both front wheel bearings on my 2005 with 245k. I went with Japan made bearing, I think there a better bearing.

245K WOW those stock bearings lasted a long time. What did the new bearings cost you?
